QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 8 2006, 12:01 PM) You'll have to drop either PTPTN or Kuok Foundation loan/scholarship. It's stated both in the PTPTN and Kuok Foundation's terms and agreement that you can't get the loan if you are already on another one.On PTPTN website: Syarat-Syarat Permohonan: Tiada penaja lain And found this on Kuok Foundation: 4) Students who are already in receipt of scholarships, loans or other forms of educational assistance should not apply for the above awards. Anyway I know ppl who get both PTPTN + other loan/scholarship and they spend the surplus money like mad (handphone/laptop/iPod). If you are caught (heard PTPTN is more strict these days) then they will revoke the loan and penalize you. This post has been edited by cks2k2: Oct 8 2006, 12:38 PM |

I still don't understand the use of getting a PTPTN and another scholarship. PTPTN is a loan right? So u still have to pay it back later. So if anyone spend the surplus money, its like using borrowed money where u have to return later.

I believe most scholarship will require you to drop your PTPTN, if you're successful in getting it. There is no point to it, you get the money, spend it now and pay back later with interest? That's just silly.
AFAIK, JPA requires you to drop PTPTN, if you're successful in getting their scholarships. |

QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 7 2006, 10:00 AM) I got half loan and half scholarship from kuok foundation. What I wonder is, why kuok give the money to my university instead of my ptptn bank acc.? Anyone can explain to me here? Ok, see here now. Kuok scholarship and PTPTN is a different entity. Why should Kouk foundation bank into your PTPTN bank account? The normal procedure (applying my concept of JPA scholarship here) is that they will give the money to your university, your university will cut the amount for tuition fees, and the amount for allowance is banked into your personal account. However, this varies for different scholarship provider. QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 8 2006, 12:01 PM) Yes, you're right to apply for it to pay your 1st sem course. But the right thing to do now is to cancel your PTPTN, somehow get the money from your parents to pay back the 1st sem, or ask Kuok scholarship if they can provide to pay back for the 1st sem fees. Hope that helps. Go to your finance division and ask them about it, they would probably be able to explain the procedure to you. |
