I teach EE in a public uni. I rarely take part in Kopitiam threads. But for this I make an exception.

Check mqa ranking on engineering courses. And check bem accreditation status. You need an accredited course by year to get professional engineer. Even UTM have a hard time to get all their courses accredited.
I did my undergraduate in UTM.

Which uni in Malaysia best for E&E engineering?
I want the shortest path so I'm thinking of foundation..
If I get around 5-7A's in SPM, will it be hard to enter?

btw i'm still form 5 this year..

Yeah, actually you have a point there.
I notice those 5A and below during foundation time in my uni are struggling to pass calculus, some even drop out already.
Masa SPM they got A+ for add maths, but come into sem 0 of foundation, they fail or barely pass pre-calculus,LOL.

Moral of the story, if you want to masuk engineering, you better think about it carefully cause it is really not easy unless you really got passion for it and study everyday or you pro at last minute studying.

Doesn't matter if 7A or 8A SPM student, you could even fail foundation in engineering(true story in nottingham).
But if you want E&E,I suggest you don't come to nottingham, cause my friend currently in year 1 has alot of complaints against E&E lecturers, even his seniors also got complaints.

Dunno about Monash though, but I think they are better than us.
But IMHO,I don't think Nottingham is classified as a top uni in Malaysia, the "Malaysian" student quality here are actually pretty great.

But when it comes to certain lecturers.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I suggest u score ur SPM first and go for any Local Pre-U class (Matrix, Foundation, STPM). Because you cant simply go direct to batch degree with SPM. But if you're willing to take Diploma first, why not...

In term of choosing a good Engineering Uni, you need to know about their facilities and ratings, not ranking. I suggest you do a little bit research about it on google. Some of the top rankings uni didn't really have a good engineering facilities...

Also, try to find a university that have a good and bright connection with industries. Becaue they will try to suit ur curriculum based on what industry wants...
