by the way..how is ppl at the vw forum ah??i see all are trying to make money..i think you should know who i'm talking off..
Been monitoring but didnt check in a while...

To be very very clear other than a recent bit of good fortune and generous people the forum was a money LOSER that I was happy to pay. I *think* I know what is meant by the above but wanted to say: not "all" are trying to make money. Certainly not me. Over the long haul I am sure to spend more than I get which is fine.

Please if any issue, let ME know. The buck stops with me and I answer to nobody there in the sense that if there is trouble I dont have to seek permission to deal with it. If no complaint or feedback? How? If its about ME well, talk to askar as he has my ear any time. I have started tightening the moderation for buying/selling in unrelated topics AND have started seeking a new moderator to assist in things. Know anyone that would be good? Let me know. At over 1,000 posts per month I think its just too much for one person and has gotten out of hand.

That said, it was a sad day with KVBM shut down their forum... there needs to be choices in any hobby. Lowyat.net is ok, but a car forum it is not. carivw may be a good choice for you also so if these are a better fit for you then I wish all the best. At the end of they day you should be able to enjoy your hobby without stress or discomfort. I cant read Chinese without babelfish so I'll leave that to others wink.gif

As a standard car its just "ok". Because the Beetle isnt that cheap, as a regular car you can do better. Example: if beetle is 8,000 or more you can find some really good deals out there for the same money.

I explain it that way because you asked about cheap spare parts in trying to decide between VW or Mini. Cheap in relation to ??

THAT said, the VW or the Mini can work very well for daily transport but its getting more difficult to do so. Better if either are used as a second car.

That's me! heh. Pup and I have the most LISTED but we are not the highest smile.gif It LOOKS the way it does because its our "job" to stay on top of postings (hope you understand). Ours together are only 3,904 of 18,285 posts

If there is something you do not like about the forum, please do let me know what that is. I have options to move things around or rename etc etc. That said, LY forum is cool too and has a variety of topics so please do continue to enjoy your stay here.

For air filtration, I like the aluminum filter sets... not the chrome ones. If you plan to use an open element filter (like K&N) AND have a slotted rear deck, you WILL get rain in the filter unless you have a rain guard thing installed. Or you could just avoid the rain! tongue.gif

My setup would LOVE to have a breather added but for now the hose just dumps under the car. mad.gif
