I would like to ask the IT security or network expert here, I am going to join a company with the job position IT security executive, I have CEH certification and 1 years exp in this field. So which certification would benefit to me? CompTIA security+ or CCNA? becoz i favor more in CompTIA security+ so i can learn more about security stuff, but the trainer suggest me to go for CCNA 1st as i could have strong networking skills. Both price are around the same.

So which one should i go 1st?

CCNA is the minimal certification required nowadays, go get that first

If and even if you have Comp Security and your future employer sees and observes that you do not have real working experience with IT security, DESPITE your CompTia certification, you will, well, let's just say that you will not 'score' as much hiring-points as if you had the CCNA certification - which I must emphasise again that every IT student being churned out of private and local Uni is being spoon fed-FREE-pass with, meaning stupidstupid also got, you dont have???

Understand?

Later when youre accumulating work-experience time, you will have lots of time to do the Security+ certifications and MORE

ok, i actualy already have CEH, which do me good in security knowledge, so CCNA is gona be my next target. but should i go for CCNP and cisco security further on after i get CCNA? or focus on security cert lik compTIA, ECSA or LPT?
