Hi all,

I have a fren from miri came to kl to do wedding photoshoot. the package includes a 50inches and 38inches photo frames. now the problem is she cant bring this frame into flight bcoz flight attendant doesn't recommend it. therefore, they suggest us to ship it by courier service.

i just wonder if anyone has this experience before. mind to share how to arrange this shipment to courier service and its recommendation... thanks alot..

The simplest way is to use Pos Laju I suppose. But need to bare the risk of damage or losing the parcel. You have to pack it nicely and securely for extra protection.

I dont see why cant bring into flight..
Just pack with styrofoam (buy at stationery shop) and wrap heavily with clear plastic (service available at airport), make sure styrofoam have enough gap between glass with packaging so wont break if impact.
check-in the package just like normal baggage.

If u ship via courier still need to use the same method so why waste money shipping separately when can go together?

Last but not least, take out the frame and glass, roll the film and bring home.
just go to any glass shop to do frame again.

coz the flight attendant told us that passenger plane doesn't have facilities to store oversized items like tat. and they don't guarantee that it wont break. so we dare not take the risk even we wanna wrap it with clear plastic.

btw, i just inquired from poslaju. they suggest us to wrap everything nicely (like wat wacky suggested styrofoam) then only send to them. so is there any wrapping / packing services at cheras / kl area ??

For the package, you might need to use your own creativity. Cheapest way is to wrap it with a thick layer of news paper. Then if you have, use the industrial cling / plastic wrapper to wrap it around. Then if you feel not solid enough, sandwich it with Styrofoam or even a flattened cardboard box. Then another round of plastic wrap. But please bear in mind that by doing this, you compromised the weight. Lastly is to wrap it nicely with a brown paper and write the name, address and phone number on it. Oh, and if you have the "Fragile Sticker", can just stick it on.

Cheers and happy experimenting............ icon_rolleyes.gif
