The Malaysian Soaptree was created by a hobbyist soap maker called Kaykay who suffers from eczema and hypersensitive skin.

She started making soap because at one point in time, her skin started reacting to every soap she tried (baby soap, mild soap, soap-free soap, etc). Some soaps were better than others but her skin remained itchy, and get crusty and weep despite it all.

After some research she found out that hand-made soap could be a possibly solution. So, she spent an entire holiday studying soap making and it became her passion and obsession.

One month after using her handmade soaps, she realized how beneficial they can be and decided to sell her soaps for cheap (compared to most other soap-makers), so that more people could afford to try them and in return she can sustain her hobby/passion.

She makes about 1.5kg batches of soap per week (7-12 bars). So the quantity is relatively limited. But it's for the best. This is a passion, not a business.
