have anyone ever heard DIY oil cooling?...i watched a video from tom' s hardware..
they used cooking oil and poured it into a sealed pc case with the mobo in there...no heat problems and superb silence...

so any volunteer wanna give a try???

i knoe this is old news....have done the search already and no thread that shows anyone have tried this type of cooling method...

I imagine getting a good, airtight case is pretty hard to do. I looked through the pictures from Tom's Hardware and noticed that the screw wells were taking a lot of strain. They started to give underneath all the pressure of the oil. Perhaps it would be better to mount everything horizontally instead of vertically. Much less volume required, methinks.

they used silicon sealing...this type of cooling will become so hard if wanna change something inside....maybe u have to 'basuh' your mobo

should be ugly and sticky all over

Hmm, conduction? Never tought of this until you mentioned it.

(still use oil.. now middle East war everywhere... oil sure veli expensive oh.) thats joke..

Hmm.. oil boil at lower Temperature.. that means easier to disapate heat?? But for sure need to replace oil after some time..

I tought they using vegetable oil? How come the wars have anything to do with that?
