it happens when the browser is unable to locate the image that the link pointed to.

The server(s) hosting those images might be down as I'm getting connection timeouts when viewing the image links.

No, although I got my avatar back now.

Still, "start new topic" as text, user posted image, "start new topic" and such appear as text.

Pip images appear as *

Thanks for the fast feedback. thumbup.gif

Hmm I'm getting the same problem too as of late. Nearly 50% of the pictures I view is 'user posted image'.

But the thing is, other users can view and comment on the picture while I get the 'user posted image' problem sad.gif

Thanks smile.gif

it still boils down to your own connection.

see, the server passes all the information to your web-browser.

so the loading of the images comes not from the server BUT from your browser.

your browser will read the HTML codes and based on the IMG source locate the image and display for you.

since not everyone is having the same connection to the source, it is possible that others can see while you cannot due to your connection.

As goldfries said, it is not a site issue. Try getting help in Networking Tech Support.

Nevermind, found the prob. It's the hoster where the image was linked from, it seems my connection to the hoster was poor or something tongue.gif

Thanks
