links are fine, explicit links are not. you can add a link on your signature (as long as its not a referral link), you can add it on your post (as long as it has something to do with the topic).

Opening a topic to post a link is construed as an advertisment. Sending out mass PM's not requested or without consent of the receiver is spam, link or no link.
