There are girls working as a senior tech at FPSO - if not mistaken at FPSO Kamelia, the O&M contract company were Victoria Production Sdn Bhd.

There are so many of O&M players out there, in fact PETRONAS also establish its own O&M subsidiary company called E&P O&M Sdn Bhd or EPOMS - handling Cendor FPSO O&M.

For Gumusut-Kakap the O&M is Gumusut-Kakap O&M Sdn Bhd (GKOM).

FPSO Ventures, the subsidiary of MISC also have its own O&M division too.

the latest FPSO facilities should be better, as minimum reference to ILO standard.. lagi bagus if you working on-board north sea, like 5 stars hotel facilities..

Gumusut-Kakap is a big embarassement. Satu dunia dah tahu hahahaha because of engineering error and technical difficulties. Itu belum campur lagi challenges during construction & fabrication phase. Bila dah siap, during sailaway ada incident LTI pulak dah (fatalities). Project management side be it Client and Contractor & Subcontractor pun bercelaru, banyak subcon gulung tikar because of Gumusut-Kakap, well as you know MMHE is terkenal dengan kekejaman delay of payment. Cerita ini semua orang tahu hehehehe

But I believed Shell sekarang sudah learn its lesson for Malikai TLP. They are hiring the right person for the jobs unlike during Gumusut-Kakap whereby hiring mat salleh yang bengap tak tau buat kerja tapi bercakap during progress meeting berlagak pandai. Shell banyak tarik those local otais ex-MMHE into Malikai TLP project, those otais banyak involve during Gumusut-Kakap, ada jugak tarik serpihan ex-SDE masa project ONGC and MOQ. Those otais banyak lepasan SPM & diploma jer, Shell offer diorang gaji berlipat ganda baiiiii....

Ini menunjukkan orang local Malaysia boleh membuat project yang complex bertahap world class, tak perlu ada degree, lepasan IKM ka Voka ka IKBN ka boleh menjadi otai in O&G if you have the right attitude.

So kenapa kita perlu tunduk kepada mat salleh padahal orang local kita banyak otais? Fikir2kan lah...

Are you interested to work at Similajau Bintulu with those heavy industries manufacturing and smelter plant?

I have a lot of contact with those company like Sakura Ferro-Alloys, OM Materials, Press Metal, SALCO etc and in fact my sister is currently working with Tokuyama. But you have to accept a huge pay cut because these industry; their salary is not lucrative like O&G.

But OT rate for Production Operator with Tokuyama not that bad if you ask me. Bolehlah cari makan.
