Hi. I am thinking of building a BBQ pit in my lawn using bricks. Still deciding on the design. Anybody can share their BBQ pit design or can give me some suggestions? TQ.

BBQ based on what type? Charcoal or gas stove? If charcoal make sure that you have ventilation slots as well as a way to top up/remove charcoals while cooking. Make sure there is a drip area so that the oil/sauce from the food has a place to drain down towards.

Those can't last. As the heat and expose to outside will cause rust very fast. And forget those that you see is painted.
Unless you look at those BBQ specialist. But price Or get a workshop to make with stainless steel material. Price would be between cheap and expensive. |

If proper care is taken, they still can last for some times. Of coz a more durable one will come with a higher cost.Unless you look at those BBQ specialist. This bbq set is at outdoor. Subject to weather corrosion. 2nd, the fire heat that difficult to prevent. 3rd, don't thing you gonna clean it and paint everytime after bbq. The most is take out the ash and spray with water. Those expensive 1 have some heat resistance paint. How long it can stand, difficult tell. The best is use brick or granite for the fire side. Sus grill. That is easy maintain and last long. Just some suggest. |

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Apr 4 2015, 09:40 AM) I do knew a neighbour that uses cast iron mesh (which he custom made via his smith friends)After each BBQ session, he will wash the mesh with degreaser and store in paper wrapping. He carbon coated (seasoning) the cast iron mesh every time he want to use it. That's too much effort for me |
