I just added a feature to prompt you about your garage sales threads if you haven't bumped it in the past 7 days. Clicking "yes" bumps your thread, and "no" will close it.
The main reason behind this feature is to ensure that threads in our garage sales aren't outdated. Eventually I will code a feature to auto-close garage sales threads that haven't been bumped for a month.
For threads closed for more than a month, I originally planned to auto-delete them, but after hearing your feedback I think we can keep them around and exclude them from search results instead. These threads can be moved to a garage sales read-only archive.
Like it? Hate it? Post your feedback here...
1st: Respect your effort and thanks for your intention to improve lyn. it is a point but look at the act from different angles.
no matter how lyn wants to head to what direction, 2 points are important to make lyn survive:
"TRAFFIC" & "CONTENT"
EVERY WEBSITE WANTS CONTENT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, DELETING THEM IS LIKE DRILLING HOLES TO YOUR PROFIT FUNNEL. DO NOT HAVE THE TRAFFIC RECORDS HERE TO SHOW YOU BUT ABOUT 3 TO 6 MONTHS OR AFTER THE NEXT SEO SPIDER CRAWLING, IT WILL SEE THE CONSEQUENCE. the longer the time, the traffic drop should be more significant, provided there are no change in the current move.
so lyn should seriously consider to delete those posts "7" days without bumping.
1)yes, mobile got problem to click yes
2) to some members who do not have post in garage sale or not many posts, it is a good act to them. however, you can see the worst thing there, no one can see a "good" and "bad" seller feedbacks/comments/sharing/recommendation regarded to post/items/deals/sellers. all these are the precious content to run a website especially a forum nature website.
3) click the yes button many times, really have little complain
4) members psychology will usually bump as long as you remind them, so Now garage sale full of bumped old threads! for those who do not sell much or long time no sale, they will love it to remind them.
5) why don't you make the interface easier to "close" a thread rather than bottom it at the bottom page with small print and not so user friendly way? a little suggestion is to make the "close' action easier and user friendly, then it will attract more click instead of use cleaner mindset to clean oldies
6) some sellers they sell the items may be out of stock this month but new stock may arrive later on, then need to retype it again? reputation and pre-buyers feedback records lost, some good comments and sharing from buyers are also lost. not worth!
finger numb...after clicking so many yes
anyway, respect your intention and the job you did
