I had a lumia 1020, that serve me well in the past 1 year. But sadly right after one year (3 days out-of-warranty) it cannot charge at all, not able to recognize it using USB cable to PC.

By technical view aspect, should be micro-usb port problem, so I sent it to mobiletechnic(Nokia authorised repair).
They said that changing the port alone is not an option, so they would change the body along the port.

But sadly after a long wait (one month), they just called me saying problem couldn't be solve by changing body with port. They offered me to try changing the board, but I refused due to the POSSIBLE long time they would take again.

So now I would like to seek advice from the forumer, that what next step should be better ?

I'm staying around Shah Alam, so any repairer around Subang/Klang/Shah Alam is welcome to PM me.

Easiest solution :-
1. Buy the wireless qi charger case for 1020
2. Buy the wireless qi charger

Imo, that is the fastest but not the cheapest solution. Just go to any nokia store, test them both before purchase, get it after satisfied.

Just wondering, did they try changing your Battery? afaik not many ppl will keep parts for Lumia 1020 the best place to get a replacement part would still be MobileTechnic (Nokia Service), it will take sometime but you have to do follow up calls, call them every 3-4 days. My friend's L1320 change board + lcd screen takes him 3 weeks in total

I afraid using wireless charging wouldn't solve the problem, since USB aren't problem, i think something more closer to the root have problem. and I personally like efficiency~

I agree that nokia parts aren't commonly stored in normal repair shops. I think i will let them do it, advising them to change the battery first (but i think isn't the problem since USD also couldn't connect) I think my battery would be super worn out (deep discharge) by their troubleshoot.

charging port problem will normally link to mainboard. technician will always suggest u to change main board rather than repair the charging port itself
