What software do u use to monitor temperature?

Guys when you put your ear near the fan when it switches off, does it make abit of sound? Cos when idle use got no sound

then how u maintain the keyboard.. it tends to get caught with dust

Can someone send a picture on the backlit keyboard? I seen on some pictures that the keyboard fonts doesnt have the red light glowing (if you know what i mean lol). And can give some opinions? Trying to get a good value gaming pc and trying to decide this between the y50. Thanks

FYI, if you're playing previous year game on ultra settings, it may affect your performance. More vram means you can render better texture

I upgraded my v Nitro by adding 128gb SSD to M.2 slot, and buy a seagate 2TB external hdd and crack it open to use for hdd part.

I also open up and re-apply a thermal paste using Xigmatek thermal paste i got spare. I forgot to make some before temp. for gaming. but usually I can get around 70C for GPU now.

and i dont actually like turbo boost that much coz it adds up heats and only provide some unsignificant performance boost, so i set my power profile to use 99% power to disable turbo boost.

what you guys have done to your units?

For those with cooling problems i found a way to control the both fans speed , and i think that auto fan speed never use the full potential of those fans , because i got even 94°C cpu temp and the fans sound aren't nearly close to the nousy sound when i set them to max speed.
You need to download rw everything from here http://rweverything.com/ and launch it , then select the "EC" tab that is circled in screenshot.

Then go to 90x03 that is for right fan near the GPU , it should h;ave value 04 for auto fan speed , you must modify it to 14 for manual fan speed then you can modify the speed in the next column (90x04) with values from 99 to 60 , where 99 value is the lowest speed and the 60 value the highest speed , in the next column (90x05) you will see the actual speed of the fan
For the left fan near the CPU go to 90x06 and do the same thing: 04 for auto fan speed , 14 for manual fan speed ; and in the next column (90x07) set the speed with values from 99 to 40 , where the 40 is the max speed of that fan.
With the fans set to maximum speed , i never exceed 65°C in GPU and 80°C in CPU that is set to run with all four cores to 3.5GHZ from intel XTU.
I think that the cooling system potential on this laptop is more efficient than the one from asus G571 which is giant.
I hope that was useful for those with high temp problems.

Want to ask leh, i play dota2, graphic settings all set to high, can get 60fps, but when playing halfway, it will drop to 20~30+fps then rise back to 60fps, frustrating indeed eh same goes to watch dogs, all low settings, smooth but halfway become laggy then smooth back again. Keep repeating. Any suggestion ??

what game is it? COD:AW  gtx 860m can handle this kind of games in extra high setting?

Sifus, just got my nitro v15 yesterday. I want to ask. Do you sometime feel the words on your screen blur? i felt that especially in Spotify.

Also, if i open dxdiag, under DISPLAY will show INTEL HD GRAPHICS 4000. Under Render will show NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX860M.

is it meant to be like this? It will auto switch to NVIDIA when gaming? sorry , quite blur on this.

What program are you using to monitor the cpu and gpu in-game? I also want to check my temps since so many ppl here complain about it lol. I'm getting mine this Sunday!
