damn, u mean the 347.88?
*
on acer website is
http://www.acer.com.my/ac/en/MY/content/drivers
the latest acer provided drivers are 345.05.

actually the thing is you can update the drivers using the geforce experience app, but there is a chance for some random issue to occur. so better just leave it to the acer provided ones

I am really interested in getting this. I was torn between this and the Lenovo Y50. The only reason why I would choose this is because of the better screen + sound system(from what I have heard). But is the overheating issue resolved for you guys yet? And really curious if I should get it now considering I see some of you having problems with it.
*
there is no overheating issue cool2.gif just very paranoid owners of their laptops biggrin.gif . as long as you make sure there is clearance at your fans and also play in a cool environment, as well as not checking hwinfo every few seconds, you should be fine

So it's a recommended budget gaming laptop right?  biggrin.gif
*
yup, but there is some compromises, short battery life (3 hrs browsing) and dodgy touchpad. screen is good and gtx 860m plus 12 gb ram is a bonus for its price

Hey guys. I'm planning to buy Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-592G. But before that i need to know if there's any common issues and problems Acer V Nitro? eg the Nvidia driver update and the fan kicks slow and all.
Thanks.
*
cons (after one year): fan kicks slow, a very small amount of dead pixels, laptop surface hard to clean, battery life isnt that great.
pros: cheapest for its performance, design is unassuming and not pretentious unlike other 'gaming' laptops.

Well, the hotfix driver seems working properly. Been playing Fallout 4 for an hour and no problem faced so far. You guys can give it a try.
*
I'm using the old drivers still, haha. I thinks it's the 31st August build. That one is stable for me on Windows 10

dead pixels is covered under warranty isn't it?
*
there is an acer policy for the number of dead pixels, also its not guaranteed to be fixed after the panel is replaced

based on the 3 models below, isnt the older models more worth for money and higher performance?
I saw in IT Fair today the latest 572g-57N0, but to upgrade its ram to 16gb will make the laptop cost to be around the 591g-73A2, which has a quadcore processor, What do you guys recommend?

the older models were definitely more value to the newer ones, that is if you could find the older ones still.
also the older ones were sold before the us dollar shot up, which is why the newer models are pricy

Hi,
I've registered just to ask if any of you here have problems with weird right fan noise when "almost" idle. I have the VN7-792G model (17 inches). That is, when there is no fan active, it's ok. When it's under stress - I can hear only the fan spinning the air, no other sounds. But when the fan is "almost idle", the fan is spinning the air nearly silently.... and the fan itself emits a low-pitched hum or buzz or wahetever.

I have already returned one piece and picked another one and the problem is the same. Did ANYONE encounter anything similar? I'm not sure if it's a problem with a specific batch or the whole series?

I also have steps to reproduce using "rw everything" from the first post wink.gif Set "93" to "14" (manual right fan control) and "94" to "DB" (this is the slow speed that causes the weird sound). "D0" (almost silent) and "E0" (a little bit louder) are all fine! Only the crazy "DB" value, which is unfortunately picked by auto mode from time to time.

Is there maybe any similar problem with VN7-592G (15 inches)?

I have this problem as well. I dun consider it as an issue. Its the fan whine and i only get it when my pc is shutting down. That is when the fan are slowing down.

P.s. i sent my laptop for cleaning so yeah its not due too much dust

Nah.. Still using mine.. Only complaints I have so far are the uncomfortably warm palm area (right side) and the lack of a display port. Anyone know where to get the Dolby Audio software? Did a clean flash and can't seem to find the compatible installation file..

this will work as well
