Hello all!

I'm thinking of buying a new DSLR camera.
Previously, I've owned the Canon EOS 550D and I really enjoy the function it provides an am very much used to it.
I'm not up to date on the current/new DSLRs in the market, that is why I'm unsure on which one to get.

Things I have to mention :

- I am not looking for a high-end one, I'm just a photography enthusiast and would like to continue on this hobby as I've been idle for awhile.
- I've previously used the 550D along with the 18-135mm lens and I found it to be rather heavy for travelling/out and about, perhaps anyone can suggest any lighter weight DSLRs which is good in function as well? (I am aware that the 18-135 lens is heavy itself, maybe a DSLR with a lighter body?)
- Price range perhaps around RM3k max? Don't mind going a little overbudget

Looking forward to all your suggestions and recommendations! Thank you for dropping by smile.gif

canon 6d (full frame) + Canon 40mm f/2.8 STM? or if you want lighter, then mirrorless (a6000) or any fuji with x-trans sensor.

You can try the smaller sized DSLRs like the EOS 100D which is lighter. If you want something lighter, then you can try mirror-less cameras with APS-C sized sensors..

Can have a look at Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus mirrorless.
You will fall in love with their performance and their lightweight compared to current camera.

ok canon 6D is out of the budget. maybe you might change your mind after test drive it. and a6000 and Fujifilm X100S are within the budget range.

Lightweight DSLR consider 100D rclxms.gif and since you already got 18-135mm lens just get the body of it that would cost about RM1.7k. Remaining of the budget invest on lens? tongue.gif

EF-S 24mm IS STM f/2.8
EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM drool.gif

Personally, i think with those gears u are able to get wideangle shots, prime lens for street photography perhaps and medium range telephoto. rclxm9.gif

Sony a6000 is what many reccomend for now. You can look at the panasonic lx100 if you dont mind a fixed lens , it is a dslr like performing compact.

If you in no hurry you can also wait to see what canon eos m3 will offer or fujifilm xm2 might be of interest.

Ah I've seen alot of good reviews for mirrorless cameras around too, especially on how lightweight it is. Thank you for your suggestion! biggrin.gif

Wow you're the next person to recommend a6000! Will check it out hahah. Forgot to mention that I'm looking for cameras preferably with interchangeable lens, but still thanks for your suggestion!
Yeah, I'm in no hurry so perhaps I'll wait and see. Thanks again~ biggrin.gif
