Mine upgraded on the 14th Sept from 10Mbps(contract expired) to 30Mbps. They will come to change my router on 1st Oct. Everything went smoothly. Could be I've called them 2 weeks earlier for the arrangement and I'm in the earlier queue.

Anyway, I'm using ASUS gigantic router and just a reboot to get the 30/30Mbps speed. For speedtest, benchmark it against speedtest.maxis.com.my website.

got into live chat with maxis rep named kogi about my issue with upload speed not exceed 30mbps (im 100mbps rm129). as usual, "best effort" reply. pretty disappointed so far. how much is unifi 300mbps again?
*
As stated in their website: 30Mbps DL/30Mbps UL and 100Mbps DL/50Mbps UL. According to the TnC, you must reached at least 80% of their advertised speed. Else you can log a case to CS. Ensure you get a case no. from them.

My case, I've got 30Mbps DL. But UL only 15-20Mbps. I log a case and got it fixed by their network team.

Please test the speed at Maxis website: speedtest.maxis.com.my. Other 3rd party speedtest site will not entertain by them.

Can ask further? So means Maxis router control DHCP and voip right?

Or did your TP Link control DHCP and Wi-Fi?

I am not sure If this will work and if all sifu can advice. If I get another router as main router, connect to current Maxis router lan port for voip only, will it work? Maxis router will get IP from main router.
*
Yes, can be done. You need to ensure your router supports Maxis configuration. Then it will assign one network port for your Maxis router. Just connect to it and wait for few mins, your VoIP will work then.

Ok, odd discovery. I've did an infinite ping to www.google.com.my & it was quite ok with occasional spike. The odd thing is, my in-game ping remained high like roughly 1,000 ms ping while the google ping went back to 10ms.

Is it because of the Maxis's private IP that causes this latency with Steam?
*
Try ping with higher packet. ping www.google.com.my -l 32000 -t

I tried this for 5 minutes, the only result is "Request timed out"

My normal ping to Google is fine. It's just that the ping while online gaming will randomly shoot up high. Using DotA is the easiest way to measure for me because I can view the ping in-game. So I'm wondering if Maxis Fibre has something that causes random high pings to DotA servers or Steam?
*
Best if you can try using cable to test the Dota. If same problem. Then most probably is your area fibre-network. Else could be the router wifi is not good.

The easy way to address the issue, suggest you to purchase your own personal router and if you want to opt out for Maxis home phone connection,
Otherwise talk to Maxis again escalate again shot again again,
think there is no other way we can do
*
The new personal router do support Maxis connection. In order use the phone, you just need to connect the lan cable from personal router port x into the WAN port of the Maxis route. The phone will work. I'm using personal router + maxis router(phone)

Dear Expert,
I want to know whats going on with my home wifi.
My problem happen since 3 days ago & the problem still hapening.Problem : during surfing my wifi signal will suddenly missing & come back.Later the router hanging.
Everytime when happend i had to reboot the router.
Last time this problem occur because of tm modem los red light blinking that causes such problem but this time the tm modem los red light are not blinking.I also replaced the lan cable

I'm using 3rd party router & all the while ok but this 3 days makes me headache.

Any solution for me that can solve this issue?

Thanks in advance

Download android wifi analyzer and see what are the weakest/unused wifi channel in your area. Set your router to that channel. See if it helps?

RM89 for first two months then tie u down for 24 months, rm129. Maxis is super kiam siap
*
Contacted Maxis. I'm current on 30Mbps contract.
After upgraded to 100Mbps. I can downgrade back to 30Mbps. No penalty.
After upgraded to 100Mbps - Contract will not get reset to 24 months.

Contract will reset only when router is upgraded.

for the 1st month only... if 100mbps for rm89 the ofc yes...

interesting... upgrade and downgrade don't need contract(unless need to change router)

joshHD, for Astro IPTV/astro&broadband, any upgrade(to the speed) will require a contract right also what about switching from Astro internet plan to maxis plans?

I've the conversation captured and sent to my email. So if any there any issues with the downgrade, I'll bring up the the chat history.
