Nah, check your bills with our MyShit App. No smartphones? No worries, you can buy one from us. What? No data Internet? Chill, we've got you covered. Sign up Myshit On1 Plan today. Opps forgot to mention, we have the widest and fastest 4G internet in Malaysia which we have no idea whether these claims are true or afraid it's not. Not sure whether is there 4G network in your area? Check it from our Coverage Map. It's sad to be true that those greenish circles you see in the map are just some randomly drawn circles, if you're lucky enough then you will be covered. Otherwise just let us tie you up with 2 years contract and suck all the money from you.

##DON'T GET OFFENDED, IT'S JUST A JOKE##

QUOTE(forthepeople @ Jan 18 2018, 11:17 AM)
sigh. jokes? why would i joke in here?
for android maxis app this is clear as day. to get the user phone number,
here is the code that i am using.

CODE
String main_data[] = {"data1", "is_primary", "data3", "data2", "data1", "is_primary", "photo_uri", "mimetype"};
Object object = getContentResolver().query(Uri.withAppendedPath(android.provider.ContactsContract.Profile.CONTENT_URI, "data"),
       main_data, "mimetype=?",
       new String[]{"vnd.android.cursor.item/phone_v2"},
       "is_primary DESC");
if (object != null) {
   do {
       if (!((Cursor) (object)).moveToNext())
           break;
       // This is the phoneNumber
       String s1 = ((Cursor) (object)).getString(4);
   } while (true);
   ((Cursor) (object)).close();
}

To use this code, permission needed:
CODE
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_CONTACTS" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_PROFILE" />

see that "READ_CONTACTS".

For ios app, it is totally blocked so I am guessing they are using private API.
*
hahhahah ... btw i ain't developer.

now i wondering what below two permission purpose ?
Device ID & call information
Phone
Identity

It's to get user's phone number. then from your phone number,
the app then contact maxis server to find details of your bill.
that's how it works i guess.
*
now it look like app doesn't required USER CONTACT LIST to get access to Phone Indentity, am i right ?

No. If you see the code,
CODE
Object object = getContentResolver().query(Uri.withAppendedPath(android.provider.ContactsContract.Profile.CONTENT_URI, "data"),
      main_data, "mimetype=?",
      new String[]{"vnd.android.cursor.item/phone_v2"},
      "is_primary DESC");

This "object" is required to retrieve the user phone number. And android.provider.ContactsContract requires permission to READ_CONTACTS.
Contacts list are often stored in a registry object and android API under "READ_CONTACTS" are used to read it and user phone number is inside this object.
*
for your information, Owner DETAIL is not save under nor inside phone CONTACT, that is how below three role come in to play:
Device ID & call information
Phone
Identity

if payment is good, i can ask my code guy to rewrite your code for you or ur company.
