QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 15 2023, 08:15 PM) The downtime is very minimal, mostly less than an hour. In fact, your unifi will still run for few days after technician install the Maxis router. Same BTU no new unit from Maxis? The proper process you need to go through is to apply for Maxis fibre from agent/Maxis centre. Inform them you are switching from Unifi, show them your bill if they having problem finding your address in the system. Maxis will give you a transfer ID which you need to go to Tmpoint to do thumbprint. TM will also ask you to pay 1 month bill, any balance prorated after that will be refunded back to you. Then just wait for TM to approve the transfer, usually will take few days. Once TM green light your transfer request, Maxis will arrange installation. They just plug in router to lan 2 of your BTU, and do some configuration, then your Maxis fibre is ready. |

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 17 2023, 03:09 PM) If you are looking at fibre +postpaid, can also check out Celcom Digi. At least their mobile coverage far better compared to Unifi. Starlink is coming in fast.I believe so. Prices should drop across all ISP. Whether you get cheaper price or free upgrade that's to be announce by individual provider. |

QUOTE(alvintcn @ Jul 29 2023, 01:35 PM) Hi Sifus, I need some technical help here. call them.I was on Maxis Fibre 100 Mbps. Last year, Maxis called and offered free upgrade trial to 300 Mbps for one year. I took the offer and Maxis changed the modem from Huawei to ZTE. After one year (i.e. the free upgrade expired), I called Maxis to downgrade back to 100 Mbps. I was told it will be done in three business days. On the third business days, my plan was downgraded to 100 Mbps (received email confirmation from Maxis) but there was no Internet connection. I've restarted my modem and router many times but nothing works. Called up Maxis and they sent a technician to check cable. Confirmed no issue with the cable. It's already been few days without Internet. Had to rely on mobile Internet which is quite bad in my place. If anyone know where to check, please help. Thanks. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 26 2023, 05:51 PM) Oh, then it is TM infra. I'm not sure why though... I used my own router, does that make any difference? I guess no. There is a different using own router. If you don't notice it then no different for you. Respond time is the key. This post has been edited by OlgaC4: Oct 5 2023, 09:34 AM |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 10:32 AM) Depends on who pulled and own the fibre network. For international route. They use the same or own isp have their own route?Maxis pull fibre all over places and put necessary server, switch, etc - Maxis infrastructure TM do the same - TM infrastructure. TM's infrastructure is also known as High-Speed Broadband Network (HSBB). Government also invested into expanding HSBB. -- Gomen makes it compulsory that an ISP owning infrastructure must make it accessible to other ISPs. A whitelabel solution so that we don't need all 10 ISPs pull own cable to the same premise. Share the last mile. The price that an ISP quote to another ISP interested to use its network is governed by MSAP. So there cannot be overcharging preferential difference between one ISP to another. That's why when new MSAP 2023 is published, all ISPs were expected to reduce price and their interconnects is supposed to be cheaper since March 2023 (now in November, are we feeling the MSAP actually taking effect?). Maxis, Digi, Celcom, Astro all have signed contract so that they can offer their own brand fibre subscription but using HSBB as last mile. So depending who owns the fibre available at your place, you might be served by Maxis using its own infra, OR, you might be served by Maxis using HSBB infra. If your area is wired using HSBB, you actually have option whether to go Unifi, Maxis, Digi, Celcom, U, .... inb4 TNB's Allo, TIME, so many other small players and also SACOFA, etc etc that I don't have a need to find about |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 10:52 AM) they only share the physical fibre cable. Thanks. Now i understand why Maxis route is faster then TMAt exchange, logically we will split and follow different path, depending on what your individual ISP set for your exchange. Actually, if you really test hit foreign IP twice or more, each test will follow different paths once it exits your ISP's network. |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 11:19 AM) that depends actually, as back-to-back connection can take wildly different path than the previous connection to same IP. I game better with LTE maxis compared to Fiber Unifi.although people sworn Maxis' routing is better optimised than Unifi's. That is how bad the route is. |

Just transfer from unfi 500mbps to 300mbps.
The respond time of any website is so fast and smooth. Why they don't give the 4g dongle any more? |

Day 2 switch to Maxis from Unfi over 10years with unfi. Feel cheated using unfi for 10years. Maxis is so much faster in term of respond. Coming from unfi500mbps to 300mbps maxis is a upgrade not a downgrade.
