Anyone got call from Maxis agent offering switch from Unifi to Maxis 500Mbps for RM89, contract 2 year and price valid for lifetime? Is it legit?

I didn’t even notice because I’m always on a VPN (peers via SG Equinix so I wasn’t affected), but today I switched one device to Warp Plus and noticed it was really bad. I guess all good Malaysian ISPs are suffering from enshittification, first it's TIME, now Maxis. I shall try Viewqwest next. |

My friend's contract with Maxis ended yesterday and applied UniFi, hoping Maxis will call to retain.
Who knows received an email from UniFi that the transfer is cancelled as "customer is unreachable". The problem is nobody called my friend, either UniFi or Maxis.
What's going on? Isn't Maxis supposed to call my friend first to confirm if she is changing ISP, then only will it be passed to UniFi?

For my Maxis Home Fibre subscription (under TM infra), the LOS indicator of GPON ONT is blinking.
The cause is that there is a fiber cut just outside the MDF room.
1) For such fiber cut (which is not inside my home), am I required to pay for the fibre replacement cost to Maxis? Or, will Maxis absorb the fibre replacement cost?
2) For such fiber cut, will the TM technician replace the portion of the fiber near the fibre cut, or will the TM technician lay new fibre from the MDF room to my home?
Thank you for your clarification.
