So they've been holding out on providing me a new modem, even though I've sent them numerous complaints about speed consistency. Why am I not surprised? Lol. I've already raised a case via their app, and can't wait to hear why they didn't think I 'deserve' a new modem despite being a loyal customer for years. Thanks for the tip. I'll update if this gets resolved.

I not sure if they changed their policy but according to the Maxpert that did my installation, 1Gbps users should be getting the 2.5G modem

Do update if they changed this too, TIA!

Will do. How long ago did you receive the new modem btw? Oh I tried switching off the QOS stuff, and pretty surprised by the bump in speed, up to 900+ Mbps. Unfortunately, upload speeds remain pathetic at 2.0/2.1 Mbps 😂

Lodge report to Maxis, including report to SKMM. I think quite possibly someone mess with your speed config, either from Maxis side or TM side if your line is running on TM infra.
The link to lodge report to MCMC is: https://aduan.mcmc.gov.my/#/public/main

I tested via the Maxis app, and also via connection tests on ps5, hard wired. The results on the app were particularly awful, about 30Mbps/20Mbps. This was on 2.4 GHz though but it shouldn't be that slow right? Interestingly the upload speeds were better. For reference, a few days ago I was getting 800++/300 on the ps5 but now it's back to being rubbish upload speeds.

A report would do nicely I think, I clearly remember them eagerly getting in touch previously, when I casually mentioned lodging a report since it's a recurring problem.

Just do the report... thumbsup.gif

Normally, they will notify if they have stock or not for the 2.5Gb Skyworth Modem since they request TM to purchase it then contractors will come to your premise to do the replacement if you're using an old modem.

Do note, if you're using the Maxis Stock router, the real speed you'll achieve is 940Mbps via cable. So best swap it with a 3rd-party brand router with 2.5Gb port.

Still... its unusual that you have high download speeds but then very low upload speeds and way below your package speed as well... hopefully you can resolve your issue cool2.gif

If you’re unlucky like me, got capped at 950Mbps despite having 2.5G supported equipment

Meaning if we want to change service provider basically we won't be entitled for the transfer promo right?
We would need to cancel and then resubscribe to other service provider.

New user transferred from Digi Fibre 50Mbps RM85 (not including tax) to Maxis Fibre 100Mbps RM89 (3 months free + 2 months cash rebate) sharing my transfer experience.

2 May: Submitted transfer request via 3rd party agent.
5 May: Digi counter offer RM45 to remain with same package and 1 year contract. Rejected their offer.
9 May: Maxis called for installation appointment.
17 May: Maxis configured with tp-link EX230v router and reuse ZTE fibre modem. Reconfigured replacing their router with my existing Deco X50.

why not accept the offer? RM45 per month is a good deal.

Yes, the offer is indeed tempting, rejected as agent will charge 150 processing fee if I stay with Digi.

We are also not pleased with no free upgrade of 50Mbps when almost everyone is at least 100Mbps.

Besides that Digi fibre customer service is bad. I once reported no internet to Digi, the issue is fixed a couple of days later. However another few days later Digi contacted me to get more details on the issue to troubleshoot the reported issue. This shows Digi took very long time to attend to my report and they do not even know the problem is fixed by other party.

Congrats! Meanwhile, your Digi fibre is still available until 1 or 2 weeks later. Then there is a final prorated bill.
If you like, you can temporary run both lines by reconnecting the Digi fibre router to the appropriate lan port of the ONU.
