I called customer service 2 days ago, they told me upgrade or downgrade your plan won't affect your contract.... I dunno its true or not...
can have the link?

actually planning to sign up... comparing with unified & celom also... what's good about using maxis?
the plan for 30mbps will be given the same router like 100mbps, 300mbps, 500 mbps?
*

Pretty sure it's this one but rebranded for Maxis
http://www.kaonbroadband.com/product/retri...epeater&lang=en

I'm still using the old TP-Link router so no comment on performance or mesh.

Thanks for replying. So if I'm understanding this correctly, I get 4 mobile numbers with the Family Plan? Does that mean I must get 4 Zerolution handsets? Because I only need 2. Possible to use the two remaining sims with my older phones?

Which means, for example with Family Plan + 2 Zerolution iPhone 12 64GB + Fiber 300 upgrade, with total my cost is;
299 + 60 +  162 + 162 = 683 (after  SST 6% = 724)

Correct?
*
Just depends on how many Zerolution device you want to get. I didn't opt for any Zerolution. Just RM 299 + speed upgrade

[Which means, for example with Family Plan + 2 Zerolution iPhone 12 64GB + Fiber 300 upgrade, with total my cost is;
299 + 60 + 162 + 162 = 683 (after SST 6% = 724)] > yes, this is correct but subject to Maxis check la, see if they let you take two or not.

downgrade means maxis getting less money from you.

The point of contract is to keep you paying more or min the same amount during the period of contract

you can request downgrade after contract period end and there will be not additional commitment after that unless you take their

Maybe your area already has fibre, so it is possible to upgrade to 100mbps.

bro I think upgrade from 30mbps to 100mbps got issue due to different type of cable use... even router given will be different...
so they advise me to take 100mbps.

If you are upgrading from 30mbps VDSL, yes there will be new wiring. Modem and all that will be taken care of by the technician during installation.

Good luck waiting.
I put in request to in April to change to wifi6 router.

Until now nothing, not even call back to confirm.

I called Maxis and they told me at least a 4month (business days!!!) wait for someone to even call me back to confirm.

Go buy AX router this 7.7. Tp-Link AX73 can get around RM350, far better than ISP router.

I think they put priority for new customer... they will give me the 4g to use first on fri or coming wed, then 16 Jul will do installation.

this sound tempting as I saw review about how good is AX73... of course within this price range..
but I worry dunno how to setup... do you think the maxis new one is good enuf? how is it compare to celcom one... by looking celcom one seems like they are using AX50...
but as I know if you use this you can't have the 4G SIM card slot, as maxis customise their router with 4G sim

The AX50 does have overheat issue but I heard that's solve through latest firmware update.
To setup the router you need to get pppoe username and password from your current router.
Example username: 12345@home.maxis.com.my
For the password just add “1” so it would be: 123451

Choose Maxis for the VLAN profile and you should be good to go. If you need to use the landline then you have to connect the original Maxis router to port 4 of the new router. 4G sim card will not work, but if your fibre is working fine you won't even need the 4g backup. Otherwise just switch back to Maxis router if you ever need to use the 4g.

Celcom (and Digi) are giving the most basic AX10

AX10, 20 and 50 look about the same.

Hi guys. Im using maxis 300mbps . Finished contract. But the maxis ma131 router is so slow. Is the maxis provided tp link c5v any better? I tried to find a comparison between them but i cant found them anywhere. Or its better to upgrade to wifi 6 tp link ax10 or ax20?

Pretty sure Maxis now giving Kaon Broadband Wifi 6 Router for 100Mbps and above.

As for AX10/20, they're decent
Plus today 7.7 got sale.

With that said you lose 4G Backup and the VoIP Phone on non Maxis Router

On paper seems very good, AX3000, Wave 2 MIMO and all of that on the specs page
but on here we have a few threads here and there complaining older devices have issues connecting...
