I seem to have a lot of issues when it comes to Uplay and Ubisoft games. I cannot connect at all to their games, while no problems with other online games.

Should get own custom router as default router have some issues with UPnP on games like Warframe.

Otherwise, try using DMZ function to your gaming machine. It should work provided you are using public IP from Maxis.

Yeah warframe has strict NAT issue with Maxis but I've generally been able to connect to my friends in the US.

Good idea. I am not sure if I tried DMZ after changing to public ip.

hi found out that maxis actual has quota for 100gb/ month for 10 Mbps package. Then what does it mean by unlimited quota?

Been sometime and didn't realise that this thread shifted from https://forum.lowyat.net/BroadbandUser-2-User

Anyway, surprised that there was no mention on the latest 100Mbps promo by Maxis. Supposedly unlimited data usage. I'm currently on their 20Mbps package and my 2 years contract finish since last December already. Had thoughts to switch to Unifi's new package until I saw this new promo from Maxis.

Wondering if you can just upgrade or do I have to reapply?

It's RM 330 for MaxisOne Plan members and RM 398 for non members. Not inclusive of GST though.

Hi new user here. Just changed over from Unifi 5mb to maxis 20mb.

I've got some questions to ask:

1. Are you supposed to get a voip phone from the installer? The installer was telling me that maxis are too cheap to provide the phone. However on the installation form that a checkbox for a phone so I'm concerned that the installer might have pulled a fast one. I only realised that when I noticed that my dect phone from unifi still uses telephone cables rather than lan cables.

2. Managed to set up the service on my asus RTN15U router which has built in settings for maxis fiber. The only thing I have not been able to test has been the VOIP phone which is supposed to be enable on lan port 3.

3. Discovered that some websites (not saying which ones) are blocked and changing DNS setting on the router to the google DNS ones does not work. These websites are accessible on unifi after changing router DNS settings. I have access to VPN services but would like to know if there is an easier way of assessing 'prohibited' websites.

4. Because of 3 above, I called up maxis immediately and change my IP to a public IP. That was fast and relatively painless but it didn't solve my website filtering issue.

5. Main reason i upgraded was because on Netflix. Streaming now is awesome and a big improvement on vanilla 5mb unifi.

For question no 1, I have been asked to pay extra Rm90 for phone but I refused..then I call serv center for this issue, they said there is no such Rm90 thing and then the technician call me back and ask me when I can pay him, I said I have call Service center earlier, they said no need to pay. He just keep quiet, after while he said he sorry and hope I will not report to Maxis bout this as he might get fired. Such a pig. vmad.gif

Thanks for the info. However I just called up and they said they don't provide a phone so looks like I need to hunt down a new phone before I can terminate my tmnet accounts.

To terminate Unifi acct, all you have to return is the BTU. They wont ask for the router, phone and settop box(hypptv). Terminated my unifi acct earlier this year due to new place no coverage.

Yes... the newest package (with free voice call) doesn't come with the DECT phone.

From their FAQ:
QUOTE
Is there a phone provided with the Home Voice service?

No phones are provided with this service. You may purchase your preferred phone or re-use any existing DECT phone that you may already have.
Even though the DECT phone is using the normal cable, it can still connect to the LAN port. But the phone is using the dedicated phone port.

Hi, anyone know how to configure draytek for voip in Thompson to work?
The configuration now is bridge mode in thompson to get voip and let Draytek to connect
Alcatel Lucent > Thompson > phone & Draytek

However, I found instability in the connection where some times it will lost connection for around 1 minute and get back to work again.
I do not know the instability is caused by the thompson or the problem from ISP. I want to try configure it as follow
Alcatel Lucent > draytek > Thompson > phone
I already configure the vlan as follow for the internet which is working
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Then I configure the Multi VLAN for the WAN
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I connect Draytek LAN port 2 to Thompson WAN port but the voip of the thompson is not working. I go into it's web interface, I see that it's ip address under voice is 127.0.0.1, it cant get ip address from isp.

Refer to https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=53813946 , seems it can be done in mikrotik. but how about draytek?

I'm using Draytek 2912n, anyone can access the demo web interface from http://eu.draytek.com:12912/

This is me being a noob and not pressing the apply button on my router and thinking I had.  Google dns settings successfully applied.

So now I know that even after using my Asus router, I still have to connect the Technicolor router to LAN3 in order to use VOIP service. This is a waste of electricity. Is there any way I can totally get rid of it? perhaps with an aftermarket voip phone that just connects to the LAN port?
