QUOTE(gark @ Oct 7 2015, 05:49 PM) Later when Eco City is fully developed will have new LRT service with covered walkway direct to MV MV management would be veli happy.. And since Eco City is mostly office and residential with a small retail portion.. imagine MV at lunch hour/weekends. At that time I might not dare go already.. ![]() not forgetting IGB Reits holders |

QUOTE(value_investor @ Oct 8 2015, 06:47 PM) I'm a investor of IGBREIT as well a frequent visitor, one thing i really hate about Mid Valley is the lack of Touch 'n Go, where most shopping malls already implemented this. I know they are being cocky since 100% fully parked, but this is a proactive initiative they should implement. Besides, as an investor i think they parking rate is too cheap that's why 100% full, depriving genuine visitors. I used to work there in the office tower, 50% parking are occupied by the workers there. Increase the parking and implement TnG, and let these workers take Kommuter to work better! well even they increase the parking rate, people would still drive & park. big no no on Komuter |

QUOTE(value_investor @ Oct 8 2015, 06:56 PM) As a middle class employee i used to be, increasing the parking rate increases one's monthly expenses greatly, they will think twice before driving. I used to make RM10k a month 8 years ago, but i still took the LRT/Komuter to work! Maybe not daily, but will rotate between public transport and driving to save cost. well for u yes, but for other people? some poeple think take public transport is "low class" thus prefer to drive |

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Oct 23 2015, 07:34 PM) Budget 2016: Promoting the development of REITs no difference right? TO further promote the development of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and boost the capital market, as well as investment in real estate, tax incentives have been extended for another three years. In his Budget speech on Friday, the Prime Minister said investors in REITs will be given the following tax incentives; Foreign institutional investors, particularly pension funds and collective investment funds receiving profit distribution from REITs listed on Bursa Malaysia are subject to final withholding tax at 10% from Jan 1, 2012 until Dec 31, 2016. Non-corporate investors including resident and non-resident individuals and other local entities receiving profit distribution from REITs listed on Bursa Malaysia are subject to final withholding tax at 10% from Jan 1, 2012 until Dec 31, 2016. This is effective Jan 1, 2017 until Dec 31, 2019. http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Busines...EITs/?style=biz |

REITS a solid form of investment
QUOTE Veteran real-estate investment trust (REIT) executive Datuk George Stewart LaBrooy, who will be retiring at the end of the year from Axis REIT Managers Bhd, describes REITs as steady investments when markets fall during volatile times. “Over the last six months, REITs have a been a rock of calm in a turbulent sea. Share prices have been steady. Their resilience shines when markets turn this way. They are a solid form of investment,” LaBrooy, 63, said, adding that they have grown to become a significant and sound investment option for many investors. “A lot of people are looking at the REIT market as a mechanism to invest. A lot of companies are also looking to list their REITs although the local REIT market may not be as liquid as Singapore’s. http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Busines...ment/?style=biz |

Sunway REIT will be able to pay higher non-taxable income distribution from the first quarter of its financial year ending June 30, 2016, onwards, after winning a judicial review that allows it to claim for industrial building allowance (IBA) for its properties.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Sunway REIT said the entitlement came after the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) withdrew its appeal at the Court of Appeal against a High Court’s judgment, allowing the REIT to claim for the IBA. http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/s...tion-iba-claims |

Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust (Sunway REIT) reported a 4% increase in net property income (NPI) to RM89.94 million for its first quarter ended Sept 30, 2016 (1QFY16) from RM86.49 million a year ago due to growth from its retail and hotel segment but this was partially offset by lower contribution from its office segment.
The REIT's total profit for the period rose by 1.7% to RM64.51 million year-on-year (y-o-y) from RM63.45 million. Its gross revenue for the period rose by 6.5% to RM121.27 million from RM113.81 million last year. The manager of Sunway REIT, Sunway REIT Management Sdn Bhd, has proposed distribution per unit of 2.12 sen, 7% lower than 2.28 sen a year ago. http://www.theedgemarkets.com/my/article/s...?type=Corporate |
