His ony conviction is he dun trust Putrajaya which is the MAIN objective to diversify

Not saying Warren Buffet is right all the time, he said something along the line that diversification is for those who don't know how to invest!

I see the pros and cons on both sides of the fence. And so I am more towards less diversification.

Over diversification will activate the law of diminishing returns.. this means over averaging..

His advice is SIMPLE

1)If you invest all in malaysia - u must move some out
2)If you have a a little bit of investment overseas - you must move more out
3)If you have most of your money out of malaysia - you must move all out
4)If you have all your money out of malaysia - you must sell house sell land and move out
5) If you are already all out- Save your relative, get them out as well.
6)If you and relatives already all out - go to forumns and save all the rest get out!
And this is HIS Mission.

Malaysia is going to collapse SOON, he has been saying that since year?

MGM,

Come on.  20+% of your gross income is in EPF that invest in GLCs and Malaysia Government Bond.  ASx is investing in the same set of GLCs and Malaysia Government Bond.  In summary, a typical Malaysian investor enjoy no DIVERSIFICATION when they invest in ASx.

The best performing ASx under PNB is ASB.

http://1-million-dollar-blog.com/dividends...ham-bumiputera/

The dividend had been trending down from 14 sens in 1990 to 8.5 sens in 2014.

I meant to say "Every investment has its risks, there are ASx sellers and willing buyers, I am quite sure some are using ASx as a 'parking' account and are selling as they see current market turmoil as a chance to DIVERSIFY to other countries (thru local unit trusts agents like FSM, at least for me)".
I actually bought AS1M easily when it was first launched in 2009 n by 1/10/15 comes with a gain of 46%, KLSE in Aug2009 was ~1180. On hindsight there are some better investments than this. To me the problem with ASx investments is one tend to be lazy to look for other investment once invested cos it is very diff to buy back.

Yes, instead of parking the money in fixed deposit, we are actually parking it in ASx..

but if really no choice e.g conversion of fixed price unit trust to variable price unit trust, i might as well exit it and count it out as my parking alternative..

following that, i would pursue for other investment options.. nod.gif

As as a matter of fact, there was a time that the conversion happen before for ASN which was converted from fixed price fund to variable price fund in 1991.

We need to be ready to undertake and accept any changes to that..

I also hoped someone here can share the light on how the procedures are like during the conversion of ASN fund which i believed happens in 1990, whereby i am only 5 years old only.. blush.gif

Sure, goyang..

The fixed price unit trust is considered a peace of mind investment.

If it turns variable pricing policy, everyone sure worried..

Good afternoon to all,... useful postings since yesterday.

Not a rumour. The clauses are written very clearly in their MP, year-after-year, 2013, 2014, and 2015/16. If they choose not to execute and decide to extend, that is a given. Then we must look at the extension clauses.

Holding horses now, not moving,... not buying more, and not selling too. Will wait for Plumberly's update, and secondly, observe what happens to AS1M and ASB at the coming year-end.

Yes.. i happened once in 1991, it might happen again especially in the current local economy uncertainties and the bear run..

I am also holding up until Plumberly's update.

Hope for some useful information from there... blush.gif

I have tried to open a new account for ASx at ASNB office and agent banks at Ipoh but to no avail. Anyone here from Ipoh who managed to open a new ASx account recently?

I see, now the buying market has slowed down waiting for ASNB's answer on the FP to VP switch. Good opportunity for those still buying then.

Let me see, how many D24 durians I can get if I only pm to those who are willing to donate with durian to me for ASNB's answer. Ha.

Just kidding.
