I don't think there is currently a way for that.

why?
i think it quite usefull, some of the user prefer COD.
if the stuff in the same state it will be easier
some more it easy to arrange yam cha for the users.

It's useful, but only for trading. We are not a forum dedicated to trading. If you have a suggestion, I will only consider if it improves the forum in general.

Explain how "pulling out the member topic from my statemate" helps in arranging your yumchas. Are you going to spam all the topic starters living in the same state to attend your yumcha?

no, u got that wrongly,by pulling the topics are for trading purpose, once u already know who ur statemate than easy to arrange yumcha, once u yumcha than u can discuss/exchange idea how to improve and enhance LYN.

Why not just open a thread in Events & Gathering and on the topic put 'PENANG YUMCHA SESSION' and everyone from Penang who is interested could post there and attend it?

Discussing about ways to improve LYN doesn't really require a yumcha session or even to meet up. You could open a thread here or PM one of us and we'd be pleased too look into your suggestion.

I still don't understand why you think it makes it easy to arrange yumcha.

In the past month we had 13580 distinct members post (let's consider them active members). Malaysia has 14 states (disregard that we have overseas posters). So there exists at least one state which has at least 970 active members.

Suppose you're in that state, and you know who your 969 fellow statemates are. What's your next step in arranging a yumcha?

hahahha... actually yumcha is second thing,
the first one is easier for me or other user (i donno, is there any) to sort out topic from trade zone created by ur statemate : reason ; COD- But already mention by the Admin LYN is not mainly for trading .

okay just to clarify for me yamcha is just small gathering with improper planning. Not and official gathering

Exp :1) "Guyss... Saturday night Chealsea vs MU , Pelita Auto City.anybody dare.. (mean no need to put name, just drop by.)

2) once i'm browsing the interest-sports topic and see this Penang guy open Pool and Snooker topic , and i can directly ask him/her either wanna try a frame or two or asking that LYN member is he/she intrested to join any snooker tour.

I know just basic html programming is it possible to put Drop Down Menu for the location 14 state + other . And inside the Adv.Search (members) just put the location parameters. I dont think it will be any harm.

sorry no offence, just a humble junior member with 64 post opinion

For your 2nd Exp :
You might have noticed that there's a "From : " together with some basic details under the avatar everytime someone posts
If a forummer wants ppl to know where he is, he would have filled that info and you together with everyone else would know just by looking

It's not like you'll have 10 threads on Pool and Snooker, each for 1 state so the grouping wouldnt help much here

And i believe your main reason for wanting this was to look for trades
No point giving reasons for the small benefits tongue.gif

nicely said ideas, but would you be the one volunteering yourself to do it?
LYN admin, like nexus- , wKkay and few others are the one that upgrade LYN it IIRC. And not to forget, they too have other commitments, like studies and works. It would be quite taxing just to fulfill your request that I see are trades oriented. If you wants to find out people from Penang, or whatever state it is, I believe Kopitiam have few thread of it. Alternatively, you can create a thread if there aren't, aite?
