U mobile release their new Postpaid and Prepaid plan today.
b4 this i've been using UMI28 for quite some time, very satisfied.
only bcoz 1GB quota not enough, i changed to OneXOX.

Now got new UMI30, data 1.5GB, definitely going back to Umobile! thumbup.gif
got XXmins free call to all networks too brows.gif

UPDATE: Soyacincau's explanation regarding new U mobile plans FREE CALLS


Apparently, the free calls to U Mobile numbers will be utilising your OFF-NET calls FIRST before the actual Free 30 minutes/day offer kicks in. So this means, if you’re on P70 and if you’ve made 10 minutes of calls to U Mobile numbers for 7 days straight (10 minutes x 7 = 70 minutes), you won’t have any OFF-NET quota left to call other numbers.

1. HOw is u mobile coverage in kuantan ? any 4g available ?

2. is UMI38 still available ?

Yeah. If you're on North South PLUS Highway, most of the time you'll only get EDGE only, or even worse, no internet connection.

yes but not all maxis 3G tower used by umobile, the 3G coverage may different from maxis.

hmm interesting... the new postpaid plan has some pro and cons. Lets compare a lil..

Additional note to consider:
U50 and U80 has access to U talk plus addons like RM8 for 80 mins to other networks(10sen/min or 5sen/30sec)
U50 and U80 unlimited calls to umobile is actually 3000mins only (there is a very very very very very very tiny wording at their contract that says "unlimited calls" refers to "3000 minutes only")

What do u guys think.

basically U50 and U80 plan has 3000 minutes umobile to umobile calls, instead of unlimited calls as advertised.

Awesome rates and cheap compared to some telcos especially for data.

Con:
Umobile is good only in area with strong reception...

A testimony from my friend was: "If you took postpaid and want to cancel your subscription...Good luck in dealing with their terrible customer service".

if no contract & no outstanding, just mnp...quite fast...from my experience, umobile postpaid only take 29 mins to port out

For me personally, I've tried four telcos, DiGi, maxis, Celcom and U Mobile. The winner of the worst customer service is U Mobile.

Here are a couple of my emails to them recently. The first one sent in November 2014: -

Dear U Mobile,

My name is Xxxxxx, and my U Mobile Account No. is 000000000.

In August this year, I ported to another network from U Mobile after the expiration of my contract. After porting over, I received my last bill of RM 57.50, however I have a deposit of RM 300.00 with U Mobile placed for International Roaming Services. After receiving my bill, I visited your outlet in 1 Utama and asked if I could use the deposit to offset the outstanding amount and the balance be refunded to me by means of cheque. Your customer service officer confirmed that this was possible and that he would put up the request in your system and I would not need to do anything on my part but wait for my refund cheque.

3 months later in October, I have yet to receive my refund and instead, I received a call from a collection company calling on your behalf, demanding my outstanding payment of RM57.50. I called your customer service and raised a case no. 000 on October 15th.I also posted my feedback on your Facebook page and received a message saying that you would look into the matter and I was provided a new case number which is 000. Thereafter I received no further feedback from your side. However, the collection company continued to call me to chase for the outstanding, prompting me to raise another enquiry on your Facebook page on October 27th, and thereafter I received a call from your side saying that you have cleared my outstanding and I will receive a cheque for my refund on the first week of November. I also received the same message from your Facebook page. I said I was no hurry for the refund, but would appreciate if the collection agent would stop calling me. I have yet to receive anything.

On November 14th, I inquired again at your Facebook page and this time receive a message that you have yet to receive any feedback from your accounts department up until now.

Then today, 21st November 2014, another one of your collection agent namely PASADANA SDN BHD called me to ask me to clear my outstanding. To make matters worse is that his company also had the nerve to contact my wife (whom I listed as an emergency contact) to demand the same. All this harrasment for RM 57.50. Bear in mind I did not employ anyone to harass you for the RM 242.50 owed to me. I have been very patient thus far, but when you start calling my wife, then I will not keep quiet anymore.

My Facebook chat conversation with your agent is attached for your reference.

I will be traveling overseas for work next week and I hope you will resolve this matter by the time I return on 1st December 2014. If I hear of your agent harassing my wife again I will seek legal advice to put an end to this nonsense.

The second email I just sent today: -

Dear U Mobile,

Your incompetency baffles me.

I have received my refund cheque for the amount of RM 242.50 for the case 000 in November last year and have since banked in the refund cheque into my bank account, assuming that you have deducted the RM 57.50 from my deposit of RM 300.00 to settle my final bill dues.

To my surprise, your collection agent is still calling me to chase for the outstanding payment of RM 57.50. When I called your customer service hotline today and check, it was confirmed that your system have yet to reflect the payment to settle my overdues.

I have since opened another case (number 000) with your customer service hotline and have urged for this matter to be resolved as your incompetency is causing me not to be able to register with other telcos.

I am demanding for this issue to be resolved by the end of next week and I expect no less than a letter from you stating clearly that I have no more overdues. Failing which, I will lodge a police report next week as I am fed-up with your relentless commitment to poor customer service and inefficiencies.

Coverage in cities is generally good. Even in places like KK, the 3G reception is good.

Welcome to the Berjaya Group of companies with legacy practises by Vincent Tan.

Since I cannot get bill properly to file company claims, I MNP port out U mobile last year
until now still did not get refund. When I was on Celcom, they wrongly bill me extra and
their customer service called twice to dismiss my case, even with black-and-white evidence.

Vincent Tan used to be very closed to Dr. M so even filling a case with MCMC was hopeless.
And filling a case with MCMC on Celcom was also futile.

I guess if you don't settle your outstanding by April, they will charge you addition GST 6%

U mobile = sux
but there is nothing Malangsia can do about it. Thank you for sharing your experience.

After my second email to them, they responded immediately. I got an email stating that they would update the payment system within 24 hours and issue a letter to me to certify that I no longer have any outstanding. I received a copy of the letter via email yesterday and they told me that the hardcopy has been posted to me.

So it takes a threat to make a police report to kick them into action. Hmmm....

Anyways, my dealing with U Mobile is as good as done. biggrin.gif

i straight away port out when they diam diam raise the prepaid plan,i was on umi28 ..and i saw this i felt cheated ..at least inform all ur users la..really suck n poor service..once reach 2 million user all things increase, be4 hit target like dog o beggar asking u to sign up with lot of freebies..now free also don wan

I'm on maxis now and I thought their 4G was fast, then I went to Singapore and bought a Singtel sim card and put it into my phone. The speed was maxis 4G x 4 times, ha ha ha...

I am using the old unlimited 50 plan. Compared to the new plan, i think old plan is much better. I am calling my parents quite often and they are using umobile as well so i am saving quite a lot from that way. from the new plan, it's too troublesome.

Do we automatically change from unlimited 50 to the new plan ka? or can we keep usin the old plan and the new plan only affects new subsribers?

Been with maxis more than 10 years, port to umobile 3 month ago. So far so good, line slightly better in my housing area in Penang. Cheap n 3g line is OK

tried looking up at 1st page and umobile website but failed to get the questions answered, seek for ur help before approaching customer service.

i am on Unlimited50 and have a few questions:

- when Umobile launched the P50, it will replace my old plan? if yes, when it will take effect?
- i have a sub-line, what will happen if i downgrade to prepaid UMI 30? Can i keep the sub-line?
- if i downgrade to UMI 30, do i get to keep my U card points?
- prepaid seems to have alot more promotion, is this true or misconception?
