Capcom released a large batch of new information about the settings and monsters of Dragon’s Dogma Online on the game’s official twitter account and official page.

There are also good news on the front of a possible localization. While there have been report about Capcom not planning to release the game in the west, Producer Yoshinori Ono clarified the point in an interview on the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou). Ono-san mentioned that the publisher is focusing on Japan first, because that’s where their largest userbase is, but that does not mean that the game has no chance to be released overseas down the line.

4 Jobs Introduced in Dragon's Dogma Online
13th February 2015

Fighter
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Fighters are well-balanced in both attack and defense. Using their sword and shield, they excel in counter moves in close quarters. They’re characterized by their sense of stability and balance. Using speed to get closer to their enemies, the Fighters can pull off powerful attacks. They can also easily knock away smaller targets.

Hunter
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Hunters are the snipers of Dragon’s Dogma Online, as they specialize in attacking from a distance with precise shooting. They can support using special arrows, and also help taking down strong enemies by hitting their weak spots. In addition to being able to take out flying enemies with little trouble, Hunters are also agile, and can use this to their advantage while closing in on enemies.

Priest
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Priests are all about healing and supporting the party. They can use magic to hold back enemies from mid to long-ranges, while enhancing themselves and party members. Most of their action will take place away from enemies. In addition to heals and support, Priests can also use magic shots against enemies, as a way to fend for themselves as well.

Shield Sage
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The Shield Sages are characterized by their huge shields, which they use to protect themselves from just about any attack out there. They also use it as a way to knock back enemies, along with a rod to use some magic attacks. For the most part, Shield Sages will use their shield to block enemies and attack when there’s an opening. Their absolute defense with the shield will provide party members with more opportunities to get attacks in.

Final Fantasy Writer Working On Dragon’s Dogma Online’s Story
19 Feb 2015

Kazushige Nojima is known for having worked on the scenario for various Final Fantasy titles, as well as the Kingdom Hearts series, and the preview for this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals that he’s also working on Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma Online.

While we still don’t know too much about the story for Dragon’s Dogma Online, the magazine reports that Nojima isn’t just writing the scenario on his own, but has been brainstorming together with the dev team. More details are expected to be revealed soon. In terms of Final Fantasy games, Nojima has worked on Final Fantasy VII, VIII, Final Fantasy X, and more.

Also, the 2nd trailer is up!

No words on previous classes will be brought into this game yet, since they only announce the 4 initial classes at launch. Probably will be released as scheduled update as it is a F2P game.

Capcom’s new MMORPG, Dragon’s Dogma Online, continues to look very impressive. The screens show off some of the game’s different locations and scale-wise makes the game feel huge. The game will actually start out the same size as the original, but after updates will be expanded to 3 times its original size.

First gameplay footage of Dragon’s Dogma Online has come out of the Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival in Akihabara today.

Here are some details that came out of the event:
  • Up to 100 players can join a lobby.
  • It’s possible to match between servers, as well as warping to a friend’s server.
  • Quest board requests change every day.
  • There are various types of quests, including simple requests that players can challenge solo.
  • Players receive “Main Quests” to advance the story at special locations. The main story begins when players are tasked with solving the mystery of why the White Dragon was turned to stone.
  • You can jump while in the lobby.
  • There are communication elements like motions and set phrases. Some of the set phrases are voiced.
  • The map is three times the size of the first game.
  • Fields include the forest, lake, mines, and more.
  • In the video, the player’s party consists of a Fighter, Shield Soldier, Priest, and Hunter.
  • Orcs become an important enemy players will find themselves fighting many times during the story. Orcs themselves have many variations, with their lowest ranks appearing in the gameplay video.
  • The Orcs have a stronghold, which players invade as part of the story.

Dragon’s Dogma Online Gets Brand New Trailer and Screenshots Introducing Classes; Alpha Test Announced
4th April 2015

Today Capcom announced the Japanese alpha test of Dragon’s Dogma Online, that will be executed only on PS3.
Applications will start on April 7th at this webpage. The deadline will be April 20th. The client will be downloadable from April 15th and April 30th. On April 15th those selected will also be notified.

The alpha test proper will run between April 20th and April 28th, and a report on Facebook will be made available on May 8th.

Closed beta will follow in the summer for PC, PS3 and PS4, followed by a wider closed beta period later this year.
The alpha test will include only four classes, the previously announced Fighter, Hunter, Priest and Shield Sage, up to level 10.

We also get the introduction of two new classes. Seekers fight with a grappling hook, in a way somewhat similar to Attack on Titan, while Sorcerers use powerful magic to smite their foes.

Dragons Dogma Online Entering Live Service August 31st

Capcom Japan had just announced that Dragon's Dogma Online is going to be entering live service starting on August 31st! The final Closed Beta for the game starts early next month on July 7th and conclude on July 15th. The game will be available in PC, PS4, and PS3! I'm normally not interested in console to PC ports, but thi upcoming Action MORPG looks very good. I've compiled all promo trailers along with bonus stuff below.

One of the cool features of the upcoming live service for Dragon's Dogma Online is the cross-platform multiplayer system. You can play with your friends on PC, PS4, and PS3! I'm hoping to get in the upcoming beta for PC, keep your fingers crossed so that I can make some nice gameplay videos of the game, that is if there is no NDA! Other than that, it seems like the game will feature a multiplayer lobby system with 100 players. Hope the game is pretty challenging like Dark Souls and Monster Hunter mix! I've never really played the original Dragon's Dogma since I currently don't own a console at the moment.

Yeah, it seems so.
I did have the installer but deleted it ady. sweat.gif
The site link is active, but not the direct link, probably maintenance?
Anyway, I guess its better to just wait for CBT3 and pre-launch on August 27. They said will introduce other char during upcoming CBT3 and little changes in it. Too bad I didnt get any key for CBT2. Really wanna play this game though. sad.gif

Lol, it is a Japan exclusive game, so yeah, gonna need VPN to play. Use WTFast also can, but dunno which server can use yet. Still no words on international release.

You can try to beg Capcom to release it NA/EU, but I doubt it would ever happen.

Seems so. But can change freely depending on the weapon u owned. There is job leveling but dunno in depth about the penalty when changing jobs at higher level. That Blood Oath system also isn't clear to me. Need to experiment all of it 1st hand later...

Yea, I know Capcom far too well for not hoping so much from them. The only thing I like is their randomness, put 1st game on timed exclusive, 2nd on region lock, and 3rd is same international release for all platform. sweat.gif
