I think Ampang is under St. John's Cathedral (Bukit Nanas, very near Masjid Jamek LRT station/Pudu area).

Last time there used to be masses at the Bukit Madonna Catholic Chapel regularly, but I'm not so sure if that's still the case. Best to check with the parish office of St. John's cathedral.

Jia You comes from Hong Kong culture. China people also say that.

People stop and stare when car accidents because they want to get the 4 ekor plate number for gambling purposes.

Unfortunately there are a lot of crazy herds at church. I can say a lot of churches subscribe to this SERVING WITHOUT LOVE mentality or as UW puts it, WORKS FOR RITUALS AND LAW WITHOUT GRACE.

I am very saddened, I have visited many churches and find this kind of culture so prevalent at churches especially Mega Churches. I have retreated to a smaller church with a bunch of tired and worn out members of my old church.

Tina, you got to be careful although I don't think your church is like this because its a Baptist church?

If you are a member of a football squad that plays by the LAW, whether you like it or not, you will play by their tune. If you play by the new redemption promises of Jesus, you will be ignored and treated as an outcast by members of your team. Thats why its so easy to get burn out. They keep on pouring Guilt on to you, telling you, you not serving enough, you not giving enough and you not good enough.

Come on, we're all saved and cleansed from our sins. You know what my church does during Holy Communion? They tell us that we got to cleanse ourselves of our sins before we take the communion. Whoa, whats wrong with the Pastor? He got his doctrine wrong? Jesus already cleansed us of our sins...why we need to cleanse further before communion???

I understand what your pastor meant, because we also do that in the Catholic Church based on the following, albeit different understanding from what Protestants believe:

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. - 1 Cor 11:29.

I am not going to go on a debate with you because Catholic and Protestant beliefs are very divergent.

All I can say is, how can we be unworthy when we accepted Christ into our lives and are given the Holy seal by the Holy Spirit?

Don't have to debate with me. That quote is by Saint Paul to the Corinthians.

those church above ground is the government sanctioned church which is a 3C church, catholic church is one of them while those underground ones or house church is the ones that is not allowed by the government...........however this is the past now i dunno

china fried rice is totally different from our malaysia fried rice, maybe you should try the restaurant food like noodles?

Sorry, slight correction. There's the communist government set up 'Catholic' Patriotic Association (open church), while there's the Vatican-loyal underground Catholic Church. The situation of the Catholic Church in China is a bit of a mess because of the communist government's refusal to allow the Vatican to select bishops. Nowadays there are some bishops there who have both the recognition of the Vatican and the communist government, but there are also several with only Vatican recognition (obviously persecuted by the communists) and a parallel goverment-selected bishop.

As Catholics, we will never recognize those government-only bishops as that will be tantamount of goverment inference in church activities. "Render to Caesar what is Caeser's, ....."
