I need all of your opinions. Talking about Dee.

I'm very inclined to follow this below.

Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

Matthew 18:17
If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

And yet I also struggle in my heart to show him Grace, as our Heavenly Father showed us Grace.
With the hope that he'll repent.

He seem stubborn and adamant when He said the few things are not negotiable.

1. Bible & Context is not important.
2. If the HS tells Him to "sin" like Bribe or Kill, He will still consider it.

Now we all know this is cult like, it's not in the Bible. If anyone can say Bible is not important, then we have lost all base for reference as to what is right and wrong?

In short, you guys want to "excommunicate" him? laugh.gif

I stand with all your decisions. 2 Days of opinions then we decide.

Yes, but I am jelly aka jealous with people who can commit big sins while our sins and them are same. Imagine you have brother in your family. You always be good in your family and your brother takes drugs and your father still willing to go jail coz of your brother. what do you feel?
*
Do you think this story in the Bible somehow fits in like above?

Luke 15:

25“Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’

28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

Oh, The Prodigal Son parable. The father loves both sons nevertheless but the older son only wanted his father's inheritance.
*
Actually it was the younger son who wanted that. In those days custom, asking your father for inheritance while he is still alive is like asking him to go DIE immediately. It's an insult and yet this Father came running to Him while he came back with the intention to be hired as a servant so that he has food for his stomach.

Terrible right? And Yet the Father loves him.

The older Brother on the other hand "seems" to be faithful and yet complained in the end.

no wonder nice guys always lose everything liao to bad boys.so should learn become bad boys in young age then apologize in old age liao.
so if good guys who haven't known Jesus being killed by bad boys who in old age believe in Christ. so who will be in heaven?

QUOTE(leonhart88 @ Feb 1 2015, 12:13 AM)
nope. you are wrong. The older son wanna justice. The father has given fair share of inheritance and older son didn't protest. However when younger son came he gave dancing and a goat while older son doesn't get anything.

Moral of the story is:

A lot of people has this wrong idea about God.
They think God is out to get them, to punish them for their wrong. And that they have to earn their way into the Father's house by "never being disobedience"

Actually God is just waiting for us to come Home, so that he can feed us and bring us out of our circumstances. All that the father has is already ours. We don't have to earn for it through obedience as some Church teaches that obedience brings answer prayer or blessings.

Don't believe me? Read the parable in Luke 15 until it gets to your spirit.

Luke 15:31“ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

Yeah still in my diploma in nutrition course. Today's lecture is about Hepatitis B and Stomach Bloating (Dr. Judy) and Digestive System (Dr. Tan). Personally I prefer Dr. Judy over Dr. Tan although both also very geng.

Hepatitis B symptoms - feel tired, have a fever, no appetite, have stomach pain or diarrhea. Some people have dark yellow urine, light-colored stools or yellowish eyes and skin. Some people don't have any symptoms!

Bloating symptoms - chest pain, vomitting, diarrhea, constipation, bloody/darken stool, burping, abdominal fullness, indigestion, stomach cramp.

Those with diarrhea can consider to try BRAT diet.

Evening lesson is about Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis on tongue by Susanto. Another great session by him.

So shocked to hear the real story of a dietitian in his 40s died from coronary heart disease and he eats a 'decent' diet, no fried food. Guess what is the root cause? He drinks one large bowl of fruit juice every days for years. Little did he know that those overload sugar from fruits (fructose) can turn into fat which eventually cause heart disease. Drinking fruit juice is not the same as eating fruits (which has fiber). Secondly, fruits are too much 'yin'. In TCM, this imbalances will cause health problem. so after completing, you're considering working in Chinese medical halls .....?

Cool down Bro,
that is why I brought up

Romans 16:17.
In a way it's to excommunicate him.

This is the principal to follow when you have such people causing problem for the Church.
We are a body of Christ after all, living stones of a small Church.

We tried to advise him in vain, after countless time, he's still a block head.
I've also tried to give him chance but seem to lagi "sombong". So be it!

EXCOMMUNICATE!

A question for UW: Some people say Grace Message is a perversion of the Gospel, but what is the grace message they're referring to? What's the difference between a correct teaching and an extreme?

Too much to one side, it's legalism. Too much of the other is liberalism which is bad also
*
Wow you know, since this thread is moving so fast, got to tag me properly otherwise I may not see your question.

like this

unknown warrior

Anyway back to your question, this require a lot of explanation, won't do justice with few lines or paragraph. But I'll try.

There is no such thing a grace message, how can it be a perversion when in fact The Gospel is about the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 20:24 (KJV) - But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Grace is the Gospel meaning it's Good News about God's Grace. That we are saved by God's grace and by nones of our works.

The problem with this is that Churches still don't understand that they mix up Works + Grace as evidence that you're saved. Why Because in the scripture the Bible says that those who are born again will not continue to sin. So they take that part as the condition without properly understanding the entire gist of the Bible of HOW transform life comes about which is by the fruit of the spirit.

The word Fruit has very strong emphasize that it means result or reward, Not effort and that is borne by the Father not us. But still some people, they get confuse over this. They think it's an effort.
So what happens is that people gets introspective of themselves instead of looking to the Cross as the source of Salvation which IMO is HERESY. Any preaching or teaching to be introspective of within themselves, saying things like search within your heart for whatever reasons is not what the New Testament teaches. It is valid YES under the OT because Salvation back then is performance based. Under the NT, everything MUST go to the Cross, it is Christ's finished work, not our work (not even 1 bit) earn us Salvation.

One thing we need to established is that SIN is SIN. The reason Christ came to save us is because of SIN.
The purpose of God's grace is to lead us out of sin, not to remain in it. What happens is that in one extreme end like recently when de1929 quotes
all things are permissible meaning to say I can do anything on purpose even if it's sin because God or "HS" will exempt me from it for the furtherment of his kingdom, that is also not what the Bible teaches.

So in summary, We need to agree (wholeheartedly) that Sin is wrong, we're not to purposely jump into it but to continue to seek and have fellowship with God, to understand we don't have to save ourselves, God has done that part, God's grace has basically saved us. Our part is to keep believing in it. When this part is done correctly (believing that we are saved by the cross) the Holy Spirit goes into work, working in our lives so that our life bear fruits. Why people's life is not bearing fruit? Answer is because they're trying to get it through self effort of Obedience to God rather than resting in God by Faith.

The Bible says that when we believe, we are MADE righteous. <-----I can highlight this 9999 times and there will still be Christians who don't get it. Ask any common christians how do you become righteous? And you'll most likely get this answer: BY doing right. Which is wrong under the New Covenant. Some may profess the right answer but at the back of his head, He will still subconsciously agree that by doing right deed or in other words obedience, you become righteous. It is not.

The righteous shall live by Faith.

Sorry if it's not clear, I'm in the process of recovery from cough, flu n fever.
