Did I screwed up my interview?, What should I do?

Getting Started

|
I went for an interview today. It's my final interview and my interviewers (3 of them) are very comfortable and casual with me to the extend they crack jokes with me.
At the end of the interview, they ask me when am I available? Because the availability on my resume, I put immediate. They ask if I could come to work tomorrow itself but I needed to deal with some personal matters and at the same time needs to go to a recruitment agency to sign my contract before I could actually start work.
The leader of the team who was also there to interview me told me to choose a date, he doesnt care whether its 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks or 1 month even. So, in order to ease the whole salary thing, I thought maybe it's wiser to start on 1st of Nov since it's already 2nd of Oct. He then added saying 2 weeks of training will be required after I join. Another reason is also to make proper research of the tools I will need to use when I join the team, rather than go in with zero knowledge of the softwares and tools that I might need to use extensively.
He said Nov is fine. After my interview, on my way back home, I gave him a call and told him that I should be able to start work mid Oct if it's convenient with them and take the last 2 weeks of Oct for training and he said OK, he will look into it as the training is may or may not be available.
My question: 1. He asked when I can start work... Does that mean I get the job? 2. He crack jokes with me, telling me to start work on my birthday (which is some time in Oct) and after my first day, we can go for a party. 3. I think he sort of mentioned that I am the only candidate shortlisted for the job. 4. Did I just screwed up my interview?
What should I do now? 1. Should I call him back and tell him I can start immediately? In order to secure the position before he shortlist someone else in the coming week? 2. Should I just wait patiently for his e-mail (which he say he will send - dunno what for though) ? 3. Should I tell the team leader my intentions of holding off my start day?
I dont have my team leader's contacts, only his assistant. What should I do? Please help.

You have 80% of landing the job When they can confirm it with you?? If they said it only took 2-3 days to confirm ur application but after 1week still no reply then there is a reason to worry

I dont think that you screwed up on anything. Just wait for his call or email. If really dun have (when he suppose to call), try to contact him back. But for now, sit back, relax and enjoy your free time at home...hehe!

Sounds like you got the job mate Don't worry, I am sure everyone seems to have the same problem about worrying until getting the final confirmation which is the contract itself.

if u call your team leader and make changes again.they might change their mind
reason: -unorganized -no time management. -no priority.

Thats right, for my current job, I only got a call after 2 weeks. Even my friend who applied 6 months ago finally got called for an interview as well.

6 months is like... the HR manager lost the resume, got stuck underneath the table... and then 6 months later, found it...

Okay, after about a week of silence, I finally called one of my interviewers today (not the team leader).
Anyway, when I called the team leader's assistant, he said I have enough years of experience and etc but not enough exposure, what's the meaning? Experience and exposure is different?
During the interview, they ask me a few technical question. I manage to answer most of them but there are some which I have no idea what its about so I was truthful with them. Additionally, they say they provide two weeks training so I am glad cause I told them even though I dont know about it I am willing to learn.
Since I didnt get the job, the assistant said he is forwarding my resume to another department to see if others need me. He will only let me know by Friday. Now, disatisfied and since I will be around the area for an interview with ANOTHER company - should I go back to the previous company and ask for the team leader to spare me some time explaining which part I am lacking, why I didnt get the job and etc?
The response initially look so positive but in the end, I didnt get the job. I feel like I got scammed. If I go to the office and look to speak with the team leader - will I look very rude or desperate? Please advise cause I really want this job. Btw, I dont have the team leader advise, most I can do is ask for him at the reception.

This has remind me, my experienced 2 years back. Happened witha multi national company . From my opinion it is enough you just do a call . And asking where you are lacking. And does/she has anything to say you for an advice. So it will help u to see what interviewers have in mind, and so that you won't repeat it again afterwards.
Other depart? and other company?. It is doesn't matter. It is in your hand. If I were a fresh graduate, I will go for both. If I have 2 or 3 years experiences, I won't go that 'other department'. Would rather go for other company. Anyayw , just do your best, as like what Malaysian said ' Kalau dah rezeki , kita akan dapat juga' . Just give your best shot and be calm.

Response +ve at 1st? This always happens. Even when i had my 1st interview, i was the only one can answer the questions, was having high hopes, then end of the day, failed! So, i will advise you to take it easy on this disappointment. One failure doesnt mean you will fail again. And think that they dont deserve you, not you dont deserve them. Try to look for other company. If the company want to forward your resume to other department, be it. Who knows you might be lucky nxt time. Cheers
