during hot days this poly wrinkle like waves, but become normal when cold..is it normal? im using 3mm solid type poly, "eagle" brand..i am not happy with this, especially when raining. water leak everywhere ;( ;( ;(

that y dun buy the cheaper brand.u pay what u get.

Water leak from joining?

yes..mostly at screw place

4.8K for 17 x 14 feet...my bad didn't check about this brand.

For now nothing u cant do.Or maybe u change the whole polycarbonate.

The below pic is mine. Never wrinkle or expand like what u mentioned.
During rain no leak and extremely quiet.
Cost me around 8k+

hmm...good la for u you're using lexan brand?

I have the same issue as well>leaking. have to call the contractor to fix back 3 times by applying sealant to the roof screw line ! Never install those awning with curve. Better if want install the normal flat type.

Please PM best price for polycarbonate (3MM) with pergola metal for following 18x15 and 18x5.

Any price difference between normal type versus pergola type? If yes, give me the price for normal type as well.

What is the extension area like?

Maybe you can cut out along that screw line to create a gap for an expansion join, then silicon bead another length the same polycarbonate to create a lip for water run-off..

maybe a strip of roofing metal piece above that expansion gap to guard against splashing..

Plastics have huge expansion differences across their types so it might take a bit of trial and error but it could be cheaper/easier than a total replacement..

Just an idea..

All my poly awning is curve. Some only start to leak after over 10yrs.

It all come down to the seal design and workmanship.

I m using 5mm. No expand or shrinking.

What I don't like is it freaking noisy when rain.

my poly awning start to leak at join to wall after 6 years. how much usually cost to reseal at wall join ? length about 20ft

buy silicon, climb to the poly roof and apply by yourself
