For anyone familiar with Sri Petaling area, you will know that are many clinics around. I have been to almost all the clinics.
How?
Well, I frequently fell ill sometime early 2014 and I had the opportunity to visit these clinics.
I have added the clinic details below.
(This is excluding the dental clinics and clinics that don't accept AIA card, obviously)

1. Klinik Chin - AIA RED CARD
6g, Jalan Radin Anum, 57000 Kuala Lumpur ‎ 375 m SW
03-9058 8311

Personally, I really like Dr Chin. I have gone to him a number of times and there is a few reasons for this.
I am comfortable knowing that I will not be overcharged simply because I have an insurance card.
Medication and consultation fees are generally around RM40. No frills. And Also, you basically pay for what you get.
Unfortunately, my new company has provided me with the green AIA insurance card which is not accepted here. cry.gif

2. Klinik Sentral - AIA RED/GREEN CARD
Jagga Rao Malla Naidu
22, Jalan Radin Anum, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur,‎
03-9057 7884
24 hours

Where do I start?
Medication and consultation will cost RM70 minimum.
Service wise?
I have seen 3 different doctors there.
Of the three, the female doctor is the most terrible mad.gif and the main reason why I try to avoid going there.
She is indifferent to your complaints and seems to treat you as if you are lying about your symptoms.
I could tell a few stories, but that's for another day.
Dr Bala is a very nice man. However he seems a bit tentative when prescribing medication. I don't wish to disclose further on him as he a kindly gentleman.
The third doctor, I've only been to him once, but he was very businesslike and couldn't care less about your worries.
Fine by me.
last word, only go if you are really desperate. Like I just recently was due to it being the only open clinic that will accept AIA green card.

3 Poliklinik Kumpulan City - AIA RED CARD
26, Jalan Radin Anum, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur

I once walked into the clinic at 7am. Clinic Chin was closed unfortunately.
The receptionist told me that I will have to wait 30 minutes as the doctor is running late. After 30 minutes, the doctor was still not there.
I went up to the receptionist and told them that I feel really ill and is there a place where I can rest. They took me to the bed in the examination room and I laid down. I fell asleep. tongue.gif I awoke 2 hours later and turns out that the doctor was still not there and the receptionist both were chit chatting. I called to them and they told me that they are not sure how long the doctor will take. doh.gif I walked out after my nap and turns out Clinic Chin was open since it was already past 9am.
Thankfully Dr Chin managed to treat me. thumbup.gif
However, this is only that one incident.
I have been there a few other times as well and service is alright. Price, still around RM70 for consultation and medication. But otherwise okay.

4 Klinik Mega - AIA RED/GREEN CARD
76, Jalan Radin Tengah, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur ‎ 240 m W
03-9057 3696 ‎

Charges vary based on medication. Quite reasonable. But it was close a couple of times when I wanted to visit so I had to go to the dreaded Klinik Sentral.

5 Klinik Chan & Khaw
50, Jalan Radin Tengah, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur ‎ 134 m W
03-9058 5816

There are many other clinics around Sri Petaling, but I am ending the list here as these are the ones I have been to.
It can be that others have been to these clinics and have experience something different to what I have mentioned.
No offense to anyone. smile.gif

I wish the AIA green card was accepted in more places. But I couldn't find out from AIA customer service on why the difference. They told me to refer to my HR, which is in Bangkok while I am in KL! rolleyes.gif

The one near 8Petaling condo junction is which one? I rarely visit clinics but that is the one I visit since it is closest to home. Remember last time heavy fever visit cost less than RM30 few years ago. Wait time in noon very short also, few patients que.

Hahah. I don't need MCs so never asked and no info on who gives MC. I doubt the clinics I mentioned will give MCs just for money. I had frequent headaches and needed prescription pain killers. I'm alright now, so. smile.gif

Anyone been to Klinik Kesihatan Petaling Bahagia?
Batu 6, Jalan Puchong
58200 Kuala Lumpur

Government Clinics are not too bad judging by this one here.
I always hear this neighbour of mine complain about not wanting to go to government clinics/hospitals because of the slow treatment process. I think that does not always apply. I went after a public holiday, and the clinic was filled and waited 1 hour approximately for each process step. Every other day, the service was quite good.

Of course it was not as empty as private clinics, but hey, for RM1, you give some and you get some.

what's the point purchasing insurance/medical card, when you can get the same treatment and medication from government clinics?

wat's diff between AIA red/green card?[QUOTE]

From what I can see, the red card has better better coverage when it comes to visiting clinics. As in it is more widely accepted compared to the green card. I checked online and it seems like the green card has better hospitalization coverage. However this is just my opinion and I cannot verify this as a fact.

Government clinics can only prescribe mild medication in some cases. A personal experience. I think they send you to the government hospital if you need better medication (I hope, anyway).

Red card is ex-ING corporate policy while green is existing AIA corporate policy. Eventually all corporate AIA card will switch to red card.

The Doc at Klinik Sentral mentioned that the medication limit for Green card is limited so she cannot prescribe for several issues on the same day.

My friend has a ear infection as well as white patches on the skin. Ongoing for some time but he did not go to the clinic because it was busy. The he fell ill with mild food poisoning and decided to get his skin and ear checked up as well since he is already going to the clinic. Doc told him that she can only medicate him for food poisoning and he needs to come in another day for his skin and ear check up. Ear check up will involve cleansing as well so that needs to be a separate day.

My friend has no plans to MC work again, so he is still not treated. Luckily the ear infection is painless.

Hahah. I really wish these information were out there sooner. Then I would not need to experience first hand.
Like do you know the procedures in order to get your child checked up for asthma symptoms in a gov hospital?

My 10 year old niece has mild breathing difficulties. Usually happens at night. So then we rush her to a private clinic nearby.
Last attack in November last year (2014), doctor from private clinic issued referral letter. Took her to Serdang Hospital with referral letter the following day.
On a weekday. MC. smile.gif

They ask to register first and make an appointment. Set a date in December for appointment.
Came again in December, queued up 1 hour to pay for registration and the lady at counter said we have to pay rates of first class patient as it was a private clinic referral. Told her that we were not told earlier and that we had no choice as the attacks were at night and gov clinic not open at the time.

She apologised and said that it was out of her hands as that is the procedure, but was kind enough to inform that follow up treatment could cost up to RM500-RM600 so we should be prepared. She then suggested to refer to gov clinic.
We then went to the gov clinic (not wanting to waste the day). After 2 more hours of queuing, doc says they can't issue a referral letter on first time visit. Has to be 3 or 4 times at least. Informed doctor that we HAVE been to a private clinic more than several times as the attacks are usually at night and gov clinics would be closed.

Unfortunately, even though we showed her the initial referral letter, procedures had to be followed and my niece was given some treatment and sent home.

But, that's just one experience.

Poliklinik Kumpulan City, Sri Petaling.

Attached Image
I have a sore throat and cough and what I was prescribed was

Attached Image

Doctor: (Forgot the question)
Me: I got sorethroat coughing for 4 days. My tonsil slightly inflame.
Doctor: do some ruling out of lower respiratory disease and asking if i have any allergies. Doctor says no problem with tonsils.
Me: No I got no allergies and Doctor, I haven't got any fever.
Doctor: It is alright, flu and cough doesn't always come with fever.

So After I have insisted a few times and more than twice that I have no fever, I still got that useless Paracetamol.

I am given this medication that cost RM 70.00

Prospan (Dried Ivy Leaf extract) - I am already using bena expectorant and I don't need this sweet useless medicine
Thymol mouthwash - Could have bought mint flavor mouthwash for lesser price
Linkus lozenges - Basically I need to remove the cough and not sugar coat it with some useless lozenges
Paracetmol 500mg - I must have paid nothing for the consultation since my repetitive saying that I have no fever fell to deaf doctor's ears.

I ALWAYS get paracetamol. Usually for no particular reason. Although I do wonder, what treatment were you looking for? Your description is what I usually get for flu and cough. Exact same medication. tongue.gif

Went to Klinik Sentral at Sri Petaling, totally not recommended to go there. I was having stomach pain and had seen another doc that morning and still feeling pain, so at night, there aren't that many choices, so i went to this clinic and regretted it.
The doctor not only didn't check on me but told me off by saying why i have come to see him if i have seen doctor in the morning and said i should continue to take medicine. But I told him im still in pain but he is indifferent and told me dont try to be your own doctor. Wtf, was so angry, he didnt prescribe me any medicine and told me will charge me consultation! He said he is 71 years old and very experienced..but not caring at all...wasted my time going there...didnt get treated and worse.,,kena charged and told off..
