QUOTE(Reanne @ Oct 3 2006, 12:35 AM) So! Any takers for the hams for adoption? First come first serve basis on Saturday. Waa... V3 already? I want your pudding bb Can ar? Can ar? Err.. I'm serious, not joking. Further discussion will chat with you through messenger. Eek Eek is quite skillful lately. She had learned new ninja skill. Now she is able to climb up a 1.5 feet container with just 1 string of wire(I used the wire to hang the water bottle) Everyday, roughly 5am+ she will jump to my bed and disturb me from sleep. Today she even turned aggressive on me by making noise when I tried to grab her as she don't want to return to her housing Ofcoz, as usual, even she is aggressive, she won't bite me All the BBs are very chubby now. All had learned how to take mealworms from my hand. Very tame, though a bit timid. Now they are learning how to run in the wheel. hahaha.. very cute to see 3 little hammies run in the wheel

QUOTE(Reanne @ Oct 3 2006, 12:46 PM) Ehem... I thought you can't afford another ham? Pudding is NOT FOR ADOPTION daggit! Eek Eek sounds so cute though. All because of your fault make me so poison with the pudding bb. Ofcoz I know lah.. pudding is not for adoption. If I were to adopt, I will choose robo long time ago hehehehe... She ar... super duper naughty. Lucky she didn't get close to my gliders' cage. Or else, I don't know what is the outcome. The main reason why I don't want her to roam around my room is my gliders tend to get aggressive over hamsters. This post has been edited by InfiniteVoid: Oct 3 2006, 03:31 PM

QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Oct 6 2006, 04:52 AM) actually i got question... i've never feed my hamster with mealworm before... if i start feeding them, will they turn aggressive??... i've suggested to my gf to feed them mealworm but she afraid they will lose their cuteness and start being aggressive... besides, my hamsters seems to get bored with sunflower seed adi.... haha... give them also tak mau..... QUOTE(long3016 @ Oct 6 2006, 06:55 AM) i feed my hamster eat cricket b4 but still not aggresive. depend on hamster itself.. am i right??? pls correct if i wrong. Yes, feeding mealworms won't turn your hamster aggressive. I hand feed my hamster mealworms. She know which is my finger and which is the mealworm. She won't accidently bite it. The funny thing is, she close her eyes and sniff for the mealworm without biting me I feed her cricket too. She is still tame. So don't worry. Further more, if you feed chicken (cooked), your hamster also won't turn aggressive.

QUOTE(RazrV3 @ Oct 13 2006, 10:47 AM) another question here.. i heard that hamster usually will eat their new born baby, izzit true.?? Not really. Provided you supply enough protein for the mother. If the mother is too stress, she might eat her own baby to get enough protein for the rest of the baby. Some mother hamster is stressful with human interaction after it give birth. So touching it will also cause her to eat her baby too. If diet is controlling well, and don't disturb her nursing her baby. The mother won't cannibalize it's own baby at 99%. QUOTE(kimmie @ Oct 13 2006, 10:53 AM) btw i stumble unto this website associate for small animals.it state clinic under which state you are staying... cool http://www.msava.org/vets.phpPls share it here, Vet List

QUOTE(hanzalah @ Oct 17 2006, 01:03 PM) may be someone can identify what kind hamster is it... my friend bought from petshop, and what written on the cage is winter white... but the pfoblem is, recently the female attackes the male la... after he saperated them, then put back together... the female still attacks the male? what exactly hapen? The male is normal winter white and the female is pearl winter white. Some female is more dominant over territory. So atk is very common. Unfortunately, you have a dominant female. I suggest you to separate them if the female dislike the male. It would be better to have them separate rather than doing nothing. I also separated my female and male. Both enjoy their solitary life and I have no worry on uncontrollable breeding.

QUOTE(blur_goofy @ Nov 13 2006, 07:02 PM) im planniny to get a plastic cage for my hammie. gonna put some wood bedding(got diff type o not? ). mayb will place a self made tunnel from paper roll. is tis ok? Aspen wood shave is highly recommended but can't find in most of the pet shop. You can only find Pine wood shave which is not really suitable for hamster. Don't go for Pine wood shave unless it is your last choice. Alternatively, you can use hay as the bedding. There are types of bedding which is suitable -> http://www.hamsterific.com/BeddingGuide.html

Some might not have anything other than physically change such as tummy turn round like a ball. Just becareful, some might turn aggressive towards human interaction.

WW won't be as aggressive until bite ppl. RC on the other hand, I have no guarantee.
Another symptom would be, you hamster like to eat more foods that contain protein such as mealworms, chicken, etc....

QUOTE(joanalooidog @ Nov 27 2006, 10:03 AM) wats the diff between black eyed and red eyed hamsters? I heard that those red eyed are more aggresive than black eyed.... Black eyes and red eyes are gene of the hamsters. You can find red eyes and black eyes among RC and syrian. WW and Robo should not have red eyes. Their bloodline is still pure... Black eyes and red eyes does not determine the aggressiveness of the hamsters. A bity hamster is depend on it's background, either never being handle before or some genetic problem (due to bad breeding practice) or being handle badly in the past...

The female container only contains Eek Eek alone. This happen 1 night ago where I don't know how my boy boy manage to climb over to Eek Eek's container. I wake up in the morning and got a shock. "What the... how did he reach there?" Today, the same situation. I wake up and found my boy boy in Eek Eek's container. Well, I guess he must have rape Eek Eek have to prepare for baby... sigh.... so horny or smart? This post has been edited by InfiniteVoid: Nov 28 2006, 08:59 AM

QUOTE(joanalooidog @ Nov 28 2006, 08:59 AM) er...any of u guys had experience that ur WW really turn white b4?? I mean in Malaysia shouldn't happen rite? the whether not cold mah...... But one of my male WW hor...it turn white!! really white!!! dunno y......I think mayb he always hide in the essential oil burner, at night only come out.........normal ah? It is normal for WW to turn winter coat if it stays in cold and dark place. If you have it keep in air-con room, it would turn faster. So it is normal. Further more, it is almost winter season... so no need to surprise

QUOTE(Princess Shmoosh @ Nov 28 2006, 08:59 AM) i am currently in a dilemma. i bought two hammies frm a college fair. at first i wanted one bt the girl assured me that two females wont fight when kept together. and they didnt fight until two days ago. and both of them are slightly injured. not seriously but just a bit reddish at the mouth and a bit at the tail. as soon as i saw that, i immediately separated them. shmoosh appears to be extremely terrified (doesnt even try to come out to play when i open the cage door anymore) and i have noticed it trembling violently while sleeping. bt now, it has calmed down. the other one, dhoosh, is in a plastic container and a basket full of small holes on top coz i dont want lizards trying to get inside. the problem is, dhoosh loves running on a wheel and the plastic container is too low to put in a running wheel. the cage is the best because it has two layers, a running wheel, a wooden house, a ladder, a lot of toilet paper rolls and lots of space. would it ever be safe enough to put them together again? coz i feel really bad for dhoosh for nt having a wheel. i gave her two toilet paper rolls to play with but i dont think she's too happy abt it. You can try put them in the same cage with observation. If they fight again, you must not place in the same cage. They must be separate immediately. This is bcoz female hamsters are more territorial compare to male. They will fight for space. Well, there some occasion that female hamsters are not territorial. So I won't generalize. I housed my female separately bcoz one of mine female is very territorial against another.
