Petshops staff just sell stuff, the owners never visit forums or do research. So you wanna trust them? They will even tell you can put anything together, as long make you happy and make you buy.

Syrians are solitary. Of course when they are below 4 months old they don't really care if got cage mates but when they are older, they feel uneasy, insecure and threaten if housed with other Syrians.

Also, Syrians sleep during the day, you go petshop all also drowsy with sleep lah, they only fight at night, when the shop is closed and you can't see.

Petshops house everything together coz lack of space. If they got 30 syrians, then need 30 cages, they won't have the space or the money to actually open 30 cages just for selling 30 hamsters. So for them, more logical to house everything in 1 or 2 cages.

Petshops of course say can, the theory is, if there are so many syrians together, even if they fight, its not so obvious because the one being attacked can disappear into the crowd. The thing is, you are not going to keep that many. If you keep 2 or 3 together they will fight as there are so few of them. THe fiercer ones will probably chase the others round and round the cage and keep attacking and fighting non stop until you have an injured or dead hammy.

In a nutshell:
Try NOT to breed unnecessarily. Don't house more than ONE Syrian in a single cage/tank. Trust pet shop owners at your own risk. Best to do some research.

Value for money food. It's standard quality, nothing special. Widely used as a basic.

I dunno whether the female is biting them, the male squeeks, and try to climb out of the box.

My male hamster has big butts, but my female dun have.......Btw, I'm not sure whether the males are WW or not......The lady who sell me that says they r spot hamsters....R spot hamster a kind of WW, or is actually a Chinese Hamster?

You wanna breed?

Spotted hamsters are not WW. There are no spotted WW in Malaysia... yet.... coz most of the spotteds that they call WW are hybrids. A mix already with Campbells. If you mixbreed with your WW, you gonna be producing more mixed up hybrids and ruin WW colours...

Petshops cannot be trusted.... Even Petsmore petshop honestly told me all the WW are hybrids.

oh ya, i intend to breed. Just wanna get ONE litter of babies for my fren.
Mayb later I'll attach photoes of my "SPOTTED" hams for the experts to identify them.
I dun think i can mix them with my female WW. The female like trying to attack thm. I monitored them closely twice, they fight and i immediately break them up.....Left them in a box for 10 minutes, they din group, and the male tend to climb out the box, and he poo and pee in the box (is it bcoz he is scared?).
