QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 25 2007, 09:06 PM) UPDATES FOR PEOPLE!!! Yee, how come I didn't realize got such cages for sale (Anyone have photo of it?). Just went to The Pet Safari to buy Prestige hamster mix as recommended by you guys. My hamster, Kimichi was fed with Hoppel Mobbel hamster mix but out of stock in The Pet Family and Petsmore. I just went to Pet Safari, I'm very very impress with the new cages for sale. Seems like a company is manufacturing cages that look like storage boxes. Light clear coloured plastic with a metal mesh as a door above the tank.... also inside comes with a plastic hide house, wheel and bottle I think.... prices around RM80 to RM100 something. Well, I'd buy one but then I got too many hamsters to give such luxury but if you guys only have 1 or 2 hamsters, it might look really nice and neat at home. The best thing about it is.... you can still see your hamster clearly without the inteference of cage bars blocking or the thick plastic of a storage box.... the box is clear so can see nicely... then the sides are high so if your hamster dig, no woodshavings or hay or sandbath can come out.... I brought Royal Canin Fit 32 from Petsmore Kepong too, gave one piece to Kimichi, he sniff sniff but don't wanna eat. Maybe full oredy after eating Prestige mix. Saw the Breeder Select cat litter 6L selling for rm22 in The Pet Safari, no smaller package huh? My room still smelly even though only one hamster, currently I'm using Sluis bedding. So wanna try this cat litter to reduce the smell. Hun, do you mix the cat litter with other bedding material? |

At the entrance mah... just next to where the prestige is... today I go gasak 2 packets prestige, 2 harry hamster and 2 habitrail staple.... then bedding.... and a few bowls... came to RM106.. die...I brought Royal Canin Fit 32 from Petsmore Kepong too, gave one piece to Kimichi, he sniff sniff but don't wanna eat. Breeder Select RM19.90 at Pet Family.... I think at some places got RM16 but dunno where... no, do not mix with woodshavings... coz wood shavings will just keep the urine smell around. 6L ok mah, can last long time hahahah... |

QUOTE(arraille @ Feb 26 2007, 04:43 PM) one more question... if compare with Woody Pet, which is better in term of effectiveness in absorbing smell...? Woody pet is what? Wood shavings also? If that is so, IMO, the cat litter is better... Oh guys, do I need to feed the leftover mealworms? LOL.. I only have 1 hamster and he can't finish the mealworms.. will the mealworms die if they don't have food? |

Almost same price anyway.... better go for the Breeder's Select/Celect.... Pet Family RM19.90 and Pet Safari RM22... but I bought from Pet Family and they only had 2 packs left.QUOTE(BlueHeng @ Feb 26 2007, 05:50 PM) Woody pet is what? Wood shavings also? Mealworms, you can freeze them in the freezer to keep longer... of course dead lah... but if you do not want them to turn into beetles or die faster.... then keep in your fridge coz the coolness will slow down their metabolism... hahaha... later your mom yell at you. Anyway, to feed them, just give oats, leftover dry bread, biscuits, sawi... as long you do not cover up the container and there is good circulation, can last some time.Oh guys, do I need to feed the leftover mealworms? The milo nowadays come with that green coloured container right? So I put the food into the ziplock and put it into the container. Cheap, quite airtight, safe... ziplock: keep the food airtight Green Milo plastic container: Keeps other insects/animals from biting the ziplock However, storing the food in your fridge is still recommended by some people. **or if you have the money to spare.. go use tupperware... or some other good branded containers..lol..** |
