the two cages also habitrail.. and i take into consideration of crazy mentioning earlier that there are two different tube diameter for habitrail and i found out sometHing cool..

for connectors.. use the new habitrail connector.. it can connect the two different size of habitrail diameter piping.. plus it can also connect to other brand piping as well..

while cleaning the cage that my fren gave me.. and assembling the two cage together.. i have a lot of cuts and scratches on my hand..

how i understand why everyone in this thread complaining bout cleaning all the hamsters cage & piping..

Going to get one soon to prepare for gerbil. Lying to my mom saying 'it's for my hamster in case i need to change the cage temporarily' LOL.. once the gerbil comes in.. it's not like she'll throw them out. i think no need sweet thing to attract ant..my syrian like to store food in the bedding..instead of foodbowl..his tank sometimes attract black ant..not the red one la...

but my russian campbell cage attract another creature...house lizard-cicak..sometime the cicak go inside the cage...but will went out with half tail.. whistling.gif i wonder what my campbell did to the cicak la..
btw is lizard dangerous to hamster?? hmm.gif

QUOTE(kurikuraX @ Feb 14 2007, 08:21 PM)
house lizard? ERm..maybe the lizard itself doesnt harm the hammy, but Im affraid if they (lizard) carry around with them a fungus. U know what i mean? THe woodchips / beddings in hammy cages contained with a some moiture content (scientifically: Water activity) in which suitable for the growth of fungus.

The issues here is, the hammy might inhalled the spores of those fungus and it can cause the diseases especially those related with lung diseases.

So it is neccesary to make sure the cage / tank is clean and the moisture content in the cage must be monitored routinely  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
THANK YOU KUrikura...got the message now..means lizard also dangerous for hammies

QUOTE(Only_Human @ Feb 14 2007, 08:22 PM)
the chicken is already cook or not ?
hehe ~ later can try leh  nod.gif

QUOTE(kurikuraX @ Feb 14 2007, 08:38 PM)
Cooked or not? Hm..my uncle have one bad experience...

He feed his hammy with those raw chicken internal organ..maybe kidney..actually not him feed those hammy but his doughter. Previously, all the hammy are tame...very tame. After feed them with chicken, not all, but some of his hammy turn into agressive and tend to bite their own owner.

anybody face the same situation? So, right now, Im not feed my hammy with meat..mealworm is acceptable  biggrin.gif
*
give them cooked, steamed chicken..not the raw or fried one..
if want to give fried chicken, remove skins and all spices..wash with hot water until all oil keluar..then wash again with normal water and feed to them..
my hamster doesnt turn agressive by eating chicken la hehehe tongue.gif

QUOTE(Only_Human @ Feb 14 2007, 09:01 PM)
shocking.gif   sweat.gif  hmm.gif
I never face this problem , because didnt start to feed them meat  tongue.gif

Maybe hamster just buy form petshop ~
So they are agressive and tend to bite their own owner ~
Maybe later will good gua ?

always heard mealworm  laugh.gif
but wat is mealworm ?
i only know ( breadworm )  sweat.gif
can buy form petshop kah ?
*
mealworm is larvae of bugs/beetle, looks like worm with legs..beside beeing a source of animal protein to hamster,it will make your hamster chubby and fat..
sold in every petshop that sell fishes..you can ask mealworm..if they dont know cakap ulat yang org bagi makan ikan dan burung hahaha..
sometimes petshop people know nothing huhuhu

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 15 2007, 01:11 AM)

Mealworms is not protein.... mealworms contains fat. Protein comes from crickets more.
Normally hamsters don't like egg white.... have you tried giving them scrambled egg? Hamsters are never vegetarians.
*
wow...thank you for telling me..
someone told me before mealworm is protein source for hamster...
so...feeding a lots of mealworm also like feeding a lot of cheeseburger also aa hun?? hmm.gif

Em ......
Can I ask 1 question  ohmy.gif
Did the hamster keep food in mouth ?

I saw my hamster keep 1 food inside the mouth ~
and 1 hold in hand for eating !

Then after a while ~ i saw him "muntah" the food form month then eat that food
= =  shocking.gif

It this normal ar ?
*
dont worry about that la...
thats normal habit for them..
special characteristic of hamster - have pouch in mouth/cheek-that they keep food in..then when they want to eat..will muntah-not actually muntah- then eat it with true eating nod.gif

this habit actually develope from their nature..
hamster in their wild will collect food and keep in their mouth/cheek pocket..may be because afraid of predator..then when it feel safe it will eat that..or it will drop all the food when arrive at home..

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 15 2007, 09:38 PM)
but the dropping food part is not correct lah. Cheek pouches are meant to collect food. This is why most rats do not collect food, they do not have cheeck pouches.
*
but i read in an article...the food will be drop at their burrow when their come back home..how come not true pulak dah..i mean the hamster simpan makanan dalam pouch..then bila dia balik ke sarangnya..dia akan menyimpan makanan di dalam sarangnya
