Without the wheel, ur hamster would be bored ler coz nothing to play. And by placing a wheel, u're keeping ur hamster healthier bcoz it can exercise thumbup.gif. Just remove the wheel when ur housemate need to study or when sleeping time lor sweat.gif. Besides a wheel, if you are scared ur hamster will be bored, put more toilet paper rolls inside and maybe get an aroma burner from those RM 5 shop tongue.gif. I put one aroma burner and my syrian always jump up and down. I put barley on top of it and it encourages my hamster to climb up when he wants to have something yummy instead of his normal diet tongue.gif

Hamster wheel is a great tool for your hamster to exercise. If you couldn't provide them the wheel, how about the hamster ball? You put the hamster inside a ball and let them roam inside the room.

I thot it wasn't good for their health especially those dusty dusty one.  I'm not too sure either but from my instinct, I think it's not good tongue.gif.  Don't get offended sweat.gif.  I'll leave it to the sifu here to justify .. hahahaha ..

Cat litter can be used but not for them to "sand bath". More for their toilet area.... if you do not have a proper toilet for your hamster then you do not need to put cat litter. Yes, cat litter can be harmful if ingested so this is why we only use it in the toilet area.

true true... it is dusty, thats why it is not recommended for them to roll in... i give them to pee in it only....

I'm goin to get some mealworms soon. But can anyone please tell me what should I do with the leftover mealworms?? I'm planning to feed 3-4 mealworms to my syrian only. Then what about the rest of the mealworms?? How do I keep them to prevent them from turning into beetles?

or maybe you could buy a few mealworms. no need to buy a lot. enough time to keep them in room before they become beetles.
