Eye divided into many different parts, and not all eye specialist can treat all eye disease.

Some ophthalmologist sub-specialize into certain eye disease only.

Even given a specific part of eye for example, retina. You can find 2 different type of vitreoretinal ophthalmologist, medical and surgeon. They have different approach to retinal disease. Another example, glaucome affects the retina too but you need to see a glaucoma specialist instead of retinal medical doctor. Thus its best you describe the eye problem and look for that specific disease specialist, rather than wasting money and time to simply approach any ophthalmologist.

I can arrange a free referral letter to you so that u can either approach the government hospital eye clinic or the private medical centre eye specialist that I recommend. Public cant just walk in to government hospital without referral letter, so u can use this letter. The government hospital will charge RM 30 and you can see an eye specialist on appointment date. Private side just call in to make appt or just walk in with letter will do.

I need the details below, please pm to me

Full name
Age
Mailing address
Description of your eye problem, so that I know which ophthalmologist to refer

Its FREE of charge, and I am doing this just to help direct patient to the correct doctors. I dont want to earn a single cent from this. Thank you.

Can you recommend one who can treat double vision?
I first experienced it four years or so ago. Then I got it occasionally but for the last 1.5 years  I get it everyday, just gets better on some days. The opthamologist at KPJ- Ipoh tested with blood test and MRI. Negative. Little cataracts. My cholesterol was high and has dropped with medication. Everything normal except for double vision. I need second opinion at least.

Hi, i not sure which eye specialist can fix double vision for adult, normally they send to optometrist for prism glasses to help relieve the double vision. Thanks

Hi, I assumed you are Eye Specialist, @jialat
Can I know is there home remedy treatment for chalazion?
*
hi, i m a medical officer in eye clinic.

you can try warm compress, soak a clean tower or handkerchief in hot water, squeeze it dry and apply it on closed eyes for 5-15min, do it 2-3 times a day to unblock any clogged up sebaceous glands opening on eyelid. then use facial wash to clean the eyelid, preferably the lid margin too.

It has been a month, I tried that method but not consistent. Perhaps that why not healing till now

If it has been there for a month now, then you will need antibiotic eyedrop to help relieve it.

Thank you for your reply!

MAy I Know where to get his? And what is the main cause?

Some relative suggest minor suggery..IS it really necessary?
*
You can try Vigamox eyedrop first but if it doesn’t improve after one week then u might need to see an eye specialist. Surgery only required when it’s disturbing your vision.

Bad hygiene is the main cause, its just like big pimple on the eyelid.

i am just directing the patient to the correct specialist instead of them simply going to one and wasted money and time because need to go see another specialist who can actually treat the disease much better.

patients still need to pay the doctors for consultation fee, i can help get some discount from the doctors.

Hi. My fiancee eye lid got swollen. Was a bit yesterday so we just use eye Glo. But today seems worse than yday. Can you recommend a good specialist for any hospital.

For our part, we still need to see GP from micare panel clinic to get referral to any hospital. Just want to know who's the best. I want the best because first company can claim, and second in case the swell is not what it seems to be. We live around SS2 area so we will need any hospital surrounding area.

sorry for late reply, hope your fiancee eye has got much better now.

you can put her on CMC antibiotic eyedrop first, it will help reduce the swelling and pain and redness.

you can see the eye specialist in columbia Pj since its nearest to ss2.

eyelid infection is common and thus any eye specialist would have solved it well, thanks.

Hi TS, I would like to have recommendation of ophthalmologist in KL on diabetes eye disease. Can u plz advise? Thx.
*
hi, sorry for late reply.

how many years of diabetes now? any visual loss or other symptoms?

Usually chronic diabetes will affect the blood vessel and lead to retinopathy, i would suggest to consult a retinal specialist.

May i know your location? I know an excellent retinal specialist in klang, he treats many complicated retinopathy patients.

Hi, could you recommend a government doctor for floaters and possible cataract?

The patient is short sighted with a high prescription.  Work on computer and use mobile phone all the time.
Thank you!

Hi, floaters don’t need any treatment. If cataract, any government hospital eye specialist can do it, they let junior doctor to do the surgery for gaining experience. I would recommend to see a retinal specialist in hospital selayang as high myopia patients have higher risk of retinal detachment that lead to floaters and other more severe complications.

For hospital selayang, is a referral letter necessary? Can walk-in?

Thank you!

Yes you need a referral letter from either private gp clinic or klinik kesihatan. You may also ask your optical shop to write you a referral letter.
