bought a z ultra again after selling off my z3.

really? here I thought I'm upsizing:lol:

wonder why sony does not include the new Xperia home in the ZU.

I mean the big icon and rounded apps tray like the one in the z3 home launcher.

Anyone has changed their ultra DPI?

Was thinking of changing it to similar to 7" nexus.
Is it advisable?

I think 320 is the default setting.

OK has acplay yesterday from 400 to 240 DPI
240 & 260 u get full 7 inch tablet ui , all apps also turn into tablet mode.

Currently run at 280DPI. Most app has turn tablet while other adopt a phablet look.heck even sony keyboard also turn tablet mode.

Disadvantage is all keyboard except for google look bit tiny. Kinda the size of iPhone 6 keyboard.

Just Google search change DPI without root .

All you need is ADB.

did u have sony pc companion as well as ADB install in the PC u are using? i also find USB 2.0, windows 7, checking off MTP mode and original cable are needed in flashing operation.

might want to try the repair option on sony pc companion. i solve a bootloop once with it.

i think ADB is one of those software meant for developing. installing the driver together with flashtool will install necessary files for flashtool to work. then installing pc companion would install necessary thing to recognise the device

anyway i once repair bootloop on my xperia s after fail flashing using something similar to this guide.

For me. I purchased the phone and directly update to lolipop. It felt very laggy and sometimes very unstable. Or is it because my old phone is the z3

Probably the ram though, Moto G, nexus 9 and ZU are all laggy. Or might be the firmware as Z3 lolipop are much newer built than in the ZU.

I guess then it would likely be the memory leak but i will sometimes have an unresponsive devices when it wake up. So far has disabled fb and Twitter notifications and it help a lot or maybe Google had updated its play services.

Even safe me from a desire to get new phones too.

Everything works great, the phone stop stuttering and killing background apps then the battery life improved.

Damn.
Those multi windows and sdcard support in aM would work wonders in ZU.

I dont mind they leaving the Z behind as nexus 4 with simlar spefication are also left behind, but a snapdragon 800 like inside N5 are also left out isnt good.

Personally, even google are doing a lausy jobs dropping the N4 when ios9 are available far back to ipad2.

Ios9 on my sister ipad 4 did not lagged. Of course u do fell the lack of RAM though as everything will keep redrawing. Kinda the feeling I get with the z ultra.

The thing ifag updated their device is not because of lagged but they would totally handicapped the software on older devices. Ipad 4 did not has slide over, my iPad mini 2 did not has split view and no other ios devices can do life pictures for whatever reason. But at least an update is an update and it's much better than no updates.

The others main reasons is the apps, family plan is great, apple music is cheap. There's a weekly free premium apps and games and there's always a bundle or discount on games which does make it really really cheap.also the apps are updated constantly with new features and some Google app are actually much better on ios.

Then there's support. My old viao pro 11 has wonky drivers and every day it's bugging me. the battery draining while sleeping, the trackpad is horrible etc etc. Then there's the apple lacks in making stupid decisions. Sony make lot of those. No flash on the ultra, camera software, really low headphones output etc etc. Apple would also likely take care of everything from "dangerous" apps, tracking, privacy, and deleting compromise app from your devices

Apple bundle a lot of useless apps but at least they didn't ship with uninstallable 3Rd party apps like fb,office,antivirus that are there simply because Sony want a few bucks from these sponsor.

Warranty is another thing. My iPad mini motherboard Rosak.I send it back to sengheng and they give me new unit. While Sony will keep harassing the broken devices again and again trying to repair it and probably break the waterproofing or some other things leaving you without a phone for long periods in the processagain and again until u just give up.

Then there's smugness,1) in their hardware features, ohh look a nexus finally has thin metal body, chambered edge, fingerprint scanner, gold color,64 bit processor 2 years after the iPhone 5s. 2)their advertising is all about smugness

That the things about apple and something Sony need to do. Make your customers happy, not feeling shortcharge, smug and felt taken cared off.
