Hi Sifu, and Taiko.

Apologize if this topic have been covered before. I need some explanation.

I wanna buy an iPhone. I'm currently using an unlocked phone (bought from Low Yat).

My brother keeps bothering to get the one from Maxis, like the MaxisONE Plan. He says you will get the phone cheaper. I say no way... Telcos won't be that stupid.

Looking at the website, Maxis iPhone6 16 GB costs only RM 1,389 for 24 months contract. Whereas the unlocked is RM 2,399.

There is always a catch, but I don't know and can't shove it off my brother vmad.gif

All I know, my friend told me before that I will end up paying way more than the retail price if I go for the Telco contracts.

Can someone explain the trick that these Telcos using as a marketing gimmick...?

Tq... love

Let say U have to pay 50 for 24 months. So 1389 + 24*50=2589. That is the least U pay if 50/month.
Also doesn't include if you use more than they allocate, that is also added to 2589. That's for long term by the way. So maybe U will pay more than 50/month.

If you take telco phone package, to me its too much to afford. Except you have family members to share the plan.

Some more they will tie you down for 2 year iinm, lots of issue la.

If you want to find more about the catch, typically they include all in the T&C.

There'll always be a catch. You'll ends up paying more. If you decided the ends the contracts before the stipulated term, there can be another cost.

its actually ur postpaid plan fee.
if u buy unlocked phone, and monthly oso use around rm50 credit, u ended up paying even more.
the only reason i dun prefer this 24 month contract bcoz in 2 years, probably many new cheaper plan will come up, maybe even new telco
