The reason such pop variety shows are successful in Korea, Japan and China is that the participants were already famous in their own rights before joining the show. It is interesting to see stars getting down and dirty playing such games.

If there's a Hollywood version I think it would be popular, unfortunately those mega stars don't need to lower themselves to do it.

the challenges for sure won't be exciting. Also won't expect the host to be as funny. The Korean one all of them ok with getting kutuk even YJS don't mind bcs it's entertainment. I don't think the local artist can kena kutuk like that without getting butthurt.
