QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Feb 5 2015, 04:00 PM) After Germany, France also reiterates it will not be sending western arms to Ukraine waste time there![]() French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian French Minister of Defence Jean-Yves Le Drian told journalists at a press conference on Wednesday. “France does not intend to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine now. We believe it is necessary to find a political solution to the crisis, " the minister said at a joint press conference with his Canadian counterpart Rob Nicholson. According to him, the position of Russia who is providing military support to separatists in eastern Ukraine is unacceptable to us. "We firmly declare it and prolong sanctions because of that fact", Le Drian said, adding that "at the same time, it is necessary to put a stop to the conflict that continues to escalate." As a reminder, the official position of Germany remains steadfast: military means will not resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine. This was said by Chancellor Angela Merkel in Budapest, Hungary on Monday and repeated the following day in Berlin: Germany will not back Ukraine with weapon supplies. German defence minister Ursula van der Leyen has branded this kind of aid as 'irresponsible' and likens it as 'pouring petrol over a fire'. better clean Middle East of ISIS than that stupid civil war in Ukraine |

QUOTE(waja2000 @ Feb 12 2015, 11:06 PM) rafale 10% more expensive, Firefighter at lease 20% more espensive than F18. I have a feeling F18 SH will winbut also cost for maintanance/parts/traning, also missile/bomb cost need to add. we already have the D version will be good if can upgrade those as well as add more F 18 SH Its the more combat proven then the french jet Rafale looks sexy for airshow though But the Stealth Hornet looks unique too and our airforce may be the first to use it? US Navy got plans to use it?? |

QUOTE(BorneoAlliance @ Feb 12 2015, 11:52 PM) U.S. Army to establish permanent armoured force in Eastern Europe by end of year Why dont you give us some of your tanksThe head of the U.S. Army in Europe has elaborated on plans to keep armoured equipment on NATO's eastern border as a warning to Russia that forces will be ready to respond to further military aggression. Lieutenant General Ben Hodges told Defence IQ that “It’s irrefutable right now that Russia is providing a significant amount of aid to its proxies. In fact the amount of armoured vehicles, heavy artillery and rocket launchers that the rebels are using has doubled since the Minsk agreement back in September.” Hodges cited incursions towards Mariupol as particularly problematic given the likelihood of Russia attempting to create a “land bridge” into Crimea. U.S. Army Europe says it is benefiting from the foresight of establishing U.S. Army rotations into Europe years before the initiation of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Under a revised strategy, commanders have decided to retain a significant volume of US equipment within the area while tensions remain high. “What the Army has decided to do,” said Hodges, “is to leave the equipment of an entire armoured brigade combat team – about 220 M1 tanks, M2 Bradleys, a battalion of artillery, armoured engineer vehicles, and so on - [which] will all be on the ground by the end of calendar year 2015.” While there have been plans to keep the equipment stationed in Germany, Hodges stated that they are now looking at sites in “the Baltic, in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria”. The aim is to ensure a long-term deterrent and assurance land capability alongside a (current) response force of 4,000-5,000 troops. “If that fits EUCOM’s strategic design, if those nations want it, and if the US ambassadors in each country want it, then I think you’ll see those things being established in 2016, so that you’ve got a forward-stationed armoured brigade combat team of equipment that rotational forces can fall in on.” Hodges was speaking at the International Armoured Vehicles conference in London, UK. He is presently spearheading the ‘Strong Europe’ framework, which looks to support NATO and US EUCOM capabilities and exercises in the region. For more information on Defence IQ’s Armoured Vehicles events and to find a forum in your region, visit www.armouredvehiclesevents.com. The next meeting will be Armoured Vehicles Asia, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from April 28. http://www.defenceiq.com/amoured-vehicles/...044945270&disc= |

QUOTE(trollboy @ Feb 15 2015, 03:46 PM) Why not we buy their pt-91m design and ask deftech to build it?? Pt-91m may not be that badass of a tank but its still quite useful in the jungles and could be our stepping stone for an armour industry is there any upgrades that can be done to the PT-91?Could be cheap since the poles dont want it anyway if so maybe it can become a MT-92 MT Because its produces (probably by DRB-Hicom) in Malaysia and 92 because its a upgraded 91 |

QUOTE(thpace @ Mar 2 2015, 01:15 PM) Their warship is to defend their waters. Their submarine force is the main attacking.. no wonder they have more sub than their own surface vessels. If Russia dont get it can we please have itBut the last mistral ship was intended to expend their blue water capability. Western report was saying the mistral was actually intended to be used on ukraine amphibious landing to the capital and covering the crimea region. But some how the conflict goes faster than expected and the ship was not ready. Now another issues is that the mistral is on hold from russia by france Well it just western report.. always the grand idea but logically what better place to test your newly ldp than the ukraine coast line, right? We buy ur French subs b4 Need to counter PRC threat |

QUOTE(thpace @ Mar 2 2015, 08:03 PM) It will be our flagship of our navy..The face of our navy in future, the pride of our navy Maybe a smaller ship that can launch heli and small chase boats surely it will be escorted by our frigate and covertte but the size should be smaller than the full size mistral to fit our requirements. For anti piracy, sea thugs e.g. Sulu intruders |
