stealth hornet more expensive wor.. block II is ady advanced enough for us with aesa

Probably we might get block 3 with less features like the stealth weapons pod and so on.
I think we might opt for cft though.
Anyway the questions is do we have the $$$.

rafale 10% more expensive, Firefighter at lease 20% more espensive than F18.

but also cost for maintanance/parts/traning,  also missile/bomb cost need to add.
*
Rafale not that cheap as well as eurofighter.
rafale flyaway away cost at least usd15mil more expensive than f18.
Eurofighter expect above usd110mil flyaway cost.

why nobody never mention source code ? is the offer includes the source code ? we really should avoid expensive stuff only for airshow..
*
Lol not the source code bs again. doh.gif
you dun need the source code to fire weapons.
Unless you want to modified the aircraft yes you need source code to do intergration.
Suadi pay billions of dollar just able to get object code only.
For us; we dun need that.

Dr. M was the one who said it himself

probably talking crap at US jets he bought?

I think he missunderstand on object code and source code.
US use object code to limit the weapons options.
when they approve the weapons than only install the object code of the weapons.

MKM will likely remain as air superiority fighter with multirole capacity seconds

the future mrca will be our true multirole aircraft taking most of the heavy works such as bombing, patrols etc etc
the main workhorse of our air force. Therefore, need to be heavy duty like F18 that works on harsh carrier operation laugh.gif

hawk will still remain as trainer and light fighter if needed
*
I prefer f18 as our naval air support instead.
spamming antiship missile.
I hope we get gripen to do patrol, interceptor and recon as they have the cheapest operation cost.
hawk seem to have taken cas role at sabah.
I think the old hawk we brought for training still have long service life another 10 years or so.

We'd should look for MiG-29,F-5 and Hawk 208 replacement in one go, that is going for up to 36 fighter aircraft (not including the possible MiG-29 trade in, should the offer still stands).

afaik the russian is planning to upgrade our Migs to SMT standard and then sell it to either Bangladesh, Yemen or Peru. dunno if this is still the case
*
Nah I prefer migs 29 replacement put on hold till there is a more mature 5th generation air superiority fighter available.
f5 recon role indeed needed to replace.
thus I recon gripen as stop gap measures for migs and as well to replace f5.
I do think we need sh as well to complement our hornet.

well f18 will be purchased no matter what to keep our big brother happy laugh.gif Just how many and how much is the question

Again with the MIG might as well as russian to trade it at no cost for more mkm since we will have no use of it anymore once retired while the mrca program continues
*
Yup just to make them happy.
But tham lucky they didn't forces us to buy their expensive useless f35. Phew.
As for migs I have some doubt the deals is still on the table but than who know what kind of interesting deal they will throw into the table.
Before the russian peace deal were made I have serious doubt if we are going to buy any russian stuff.
hopefully situation in Europe ease down so that we can go crazy again with moding style. laugh.gif

they offered right? There even news from them tat will be offered to partners in south east asia like malaysia and Singapore

i dont think there will be much issues buying from russia.. the most will be from those macai sensitive pricks laugh.gif
But i do hear the buk system which was to be put up for consideration for our medium range SAM, does face some possible setback especially public opinion since it the system that most likely shoot down mh17 despite both ukraine and russia have them
But i do hove we get the pantsir system at least.. better than that outdated jernas

Given it the russian... they dont always throw interesting deal until we ask for them  laugh.gif
If we ask, most likely will get as well..
*
I mean buying mkm will be having lots of hard times since it have lots of western hardware.

It will still have problem even it follow previous configuration.
Russian still need to get most of the hardware from thales.
unless we getting all russian stuff.

I don't think we gonna stray away far from the T series, as they ady use the base to train and develop doctrine from the pt91m
Well, maybe they could get away from the russian tanks but I still reckon it gonna be under 50-tonnes class
*
That still depend on decision maker whether they wan to cont with T-series.
I think they might put in fibau, esscom and networks with western system into consideration.
Yup weights requirements still pretty much in the books.
The latest t-90 barely pass the weight requirements though.

Malaysia not premium tank country. Prolly more suited to FIBUA and skirmishes than full-on tank-on-tank orgies. IMHO lighter tanks should also be considered rather than exclusively looking at 50 ton + behemoths that prolly would get stuck the in first mud pit it finds.  laugh.gif
*
I seriously doubt we will see any mbt orgies party with current warfare.
I think we would pretty much play av8 atgm hit and run against enemy mbt. laugh.gif

Standard NATO tanks, 55-65 tonnes is normal
East asian (k2, type10) tanks is blardy expensive..

So the requirement is 3 men crew, autoloader, 50 tonnes class (maybe max 55)
Is there a non-russian tanks that fill all this?
*
in short type 10 ftw even it was expensive.

Why cant they just add up the su-30mkm? Easy what..no need to buy new tool box, save cost amd training and armament etc. just add up a new squadron..voila!
*
Buying mkm no longer possible given the current russian and western relation.
The best solution available is to go for leasing gripen.
