hey mate, try writing in proper english.
do u take lessons?
anyways, when did paradise live came? i only went last year sometime in october. did u go for their guitar workshop? i was there, unfortunately, it wasnt much fun as some kids who attended were trying their best to show off and beat each other so i just stand aside and didnt play. for paradise, they didnt really play lead. electric guitar focused mainly on just power chords and occasionally playing in octaves (same shape as a power chord, just take the 5th out, thus playing just 2 notes, root and an octave higher).

1st off, i second echobrain's writing in proper eng..and, don't change the way you play just because another guy does the same..why do you have to change and not him? but if you must really change, come up with your own lead lines..or rhythmic melody to complement his chords..or different plucking pattern(its even better if he strums..you just whole the chord and start plucking along with the rhythm)..and my opinions are solely from my intepretion of what you said..so, if i get it wrong, my bad

You want to get noticed? Start by learning the lead lines for these few songs:

Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
Slayer - Hell Awaits
Black Label Society - Counterfeit God
Cradle Of Filth - Nymphatamine
Slipknot - People=S**t
Lamb Of God - A Devil in God's Country

Once you learn those songs, play 'em in your church over your rhythm player's songs.... guranteed to get attention......

Dude, what do you expect? There's no way to give you instant 1337 skillz in Lead guitar...... the way you do it? Like everyone else here, practise, practise, practise, practise. The only thing we can teach you here is WHAT to practise.

Start by buying a book on scales and start learning from that..... going over the scales over and over and over and over and over and over... and once you've done that, go over it over and over and over and over and over..... you get the hint? Once you understand how a chord is formed and how a note is related to another in a different scale, THEN you can pick up different techniques like simple licks or riffs......

I've been playing for 6+ years and I STILL can't do 6plets at 60bpms... Practising takes a looooong time, but if you're serious in guitar, then it will pay off.

EDIT: Sorry if I sounded mean....... I'm not in a good mood and people with bad grammar REALLY p****s me off.......

seriously, if you say the other guitarist plays everything.
why do you even wanna play? to show off to the chicks there?
if you want to outdo him, go learn to sing and move like david lee roth tongue.gif

eh blacktrix, 6plets at 60bpm? as in 6 notes per beat?
go get instructional videos.
i could probably help you do that in a week or two, magic word of cos is practice.

Which advice? Playing the satanic songs? Well, make SURE you play the riffs mentioned with Either a BC Rich, Jackson, Washburn, ESP or Dean guitar....... and get the biggest amp you can affoard.... good candidates are the Krank Krankenstein, Marshall Mode4, Mesa/Boogie Rectifer, Randall Warhead (if you can find 'em) or the Bogner Uberschall.... guranteed MAXIMUM output. Don't care if it sounds good.... just make sure it's HEAVY and as GAINY as possible.
Wouldn't hurt if you brought them in Coffin Cases......

And for the second advice..... I said BUY a book on scales. Even if you can read them on your computer screen, it's best to get a hard copy of them so you can take it along with you and practise. I mean, practise EVERY CHANCE YOU GET if you want to get good fast...... when watching TV or astro, whip out the acoustic and go over the scale patterns.... while waiting for your game to load up, practise pentatonics.... while waiting for your friend to pick you up, practise arpeggios......

Also, once you get better, to differenciate from your other player yet still sound good together, I SERIOUSLY suggest listening to Iron Maiden, Metallica, Trivium, Opeth and heck, why not Dragonforce to get an idea of how to HARMONIZE with each other.... These few metal bands might be loud, but they do create beautiful harmonies between each other's playing. That's one way to differenciate your playing

EDIT: I CAN do 6 notes per beat, but it always run slightly faster or slower then the tempo....

then simply increase the beats to 120bpm and do normal triplets to get the feel down.

hahahaha, newbie?

play some chords first...open chords, then pick up from there. there is nothing much we can "teach" part from directing you to route to start.

after you are comfortable with chord playing, and want to try lead playing always remember the metronome is your best friend. playing fast, good technique and all start them slow then work them up to speed.

@siemens
get comfortable with playing chords first before you think about anything else. don't try to play too much of other stuff before you have gotten all the basics right. otherwise you'll just add unnecessary noise to the band.
