Tested the HB version today. I'll summarize it in point form:-
- Love the handling of the car. Power is very decent for a 1.5L. In fact it feels more powerful than the Vios and City.
- Interior is really a class above the City and Vios.
- Exterior looks good as well but could be better with the LED DRL instead of halogen.
- Feels very solid and stable.
- Love the digital speed HUD at the windscreen!

The minus points:-
- Back is cramp
- Boot is very small for the HB version. Not sure about the sedan.
- The suspension set up is very very firm but could be due to overinflated tyres?

Overall, without seeing the sedan version yet, I find this car a better buy than the City and Vios.

how cramp is the back compare to vios and city?
how about the NVH compare to vios and city?

When the front seat was pushed almost all the way to the back, my knees had only about 1 - 2cm gap from the front seat. I cant recall how is it for Vios but City definitely had more legroom for the back passengers.

NVH was good. Very silent and feels solid and planted on the road. Tyres abit noisy but perhaps can be solved using Michelin tyres?

We also have to look at the bigger picture. Singapore DO NOT posses the land to cater for cars. They sorta imposed those exorbitant prices to restrict the limit of buyers. And then they use that money to Improve their public transport and duno what bullcrap investment.

If we can have the same infra like Singapore, heck i dont mind not having a car.
For Malaysia, the infra is bullcrap. And the government give you the impression as though THEY ARE HELPING to ease our burden by setting up Proton and give us a cheaper "alternative".

By looking at my MAZDA AP, we know that Mahathir is bullshitting.

MAZDA 2 Thailand FOB Price is 23k.  I believe Mazda Japan will have a slight profit from it? So the cost to make a Mazda 2 Malaysian spec is only about say 18-19K??

Now u look at Proton Iriz Premium at 62K or Proton Saga FLX 1.6 at RM49281. Try to compare these

IRIZ PREMIUM COST VS PROTON SAGA FLX COST VS MAZDA 2 Malaysian Spec COST

And then the vast difference in QUALITY. Thats my point.

So true. Totally agree with you. But then again, Proton does not have the economies of scale since their market share is so tiny as compared to Mazda being a true global player hence Proton's cost will definately be higher than other brands.
