how cramp is the back compare to vios and city?
how about the NVH compare to vios and city?
*
I have test driven the hatchback. Interior quality is fantastic.

Back space is really small. I would say its slightly bigger than a VW Polo.

Even a Myvi has acres of space behind. Vios & city rear seats are really spacious too .

But M2 rear space is really tight.

For anyone who have test drive the M2, how about the road noise and wind noise? Read few couple review from aussie, seem many do point about that problem too. Still can't decide on M2 or Jazz.

if want some space, then sedan is the option

hatch is more like a driver-car, max only for 2 person  tongue.gif

i thought sedan only have a bigger trunk size? does it affect the rear space since wheelbase length is the same.

Just came back from test drive. Went over to the main HQ in Glenmarie. Both versions were on display, the Hatchback and the Sedan. However, the Sedan version is of Diesel engine (not sold in Malaysia). Test drive version is only the HB (white).

There is to my surprise, a HB version that was on display which is equipped with a complete kit (front bumper, side skirting, etc) and I must say that it enhances the car on a whole new level. The HB version that was on display is the red while the kit has 2 tone (red & black). The obvious changes are coated with black top and black side mirrors.  It changes the looks not in an extreme sense but more towards a subtle sporty glare. I also asked the SA and they are in the mist of bringing the kit. Estimate price around an additional 1.5k - 2k for the kit (aside than the 1.2k for the optional navigation system). Another thing is the carbon fiber!!! Its everywhere in the car. The headlamps, steering wheel, certain part of the dash board and also the door where the window controls located. This certainly added the feel of "premium -ness"

The test drive to my opinion was satisfying. Coming from a person who drives a CRZ. Bodyroll was kept at a minimum when in corners and road noise was not obvious. Acceleration responded well with no jerks/change of gears (must be the awesome skyactiv tech). However, when i switched to manual (dropped of gear) u can hear the car rev pretty loud (dunno whether is normal or not). Oh and the i-stop tech, it makes as if your driving a hybrid car while your car stand idling. Can't tell whether the engine is on or not =P

The fastest I went was 78km/h (wanted to go faster, but u know la how roads are inside Glenmarie). I'm 172cm and I must say, the front and back fits me perfectly. Although someone who is 175 and above would have difficulty at the rear passenger side.

Overall, for its price... totally worth it.!!! (that's only my opinion)

p.s. the so called "ugly" lamps ain't that bad when u view it in real life. It does compliments the car somewhat or rather. Of course having the original projector headlamps would have been nice.

Thought of sharing it in this thread as well.

So, how does it compare to your crz? Ride, handling, steering, comfort, noise, cabin quality etc

Test drove it up to 145km/h.. Yeap road and wind noise is there, slightly less than a Proton though..

In terms of handling, you definitely can't beat a CRZ given the car is lower and having bigger tires. However, I must say that the turning radius for M3 is way better. It definitely feels that it covered more grounds while making a U-turn or 3point turn.

Comfort and cabin quality surpasses CRZ by light years. CRZ has no soft touch within the cabin. Even the door handles are hard plastics. However, I must agree with Boy96, the wind noise does picks up especially when ur travelling above 80km/h.

Wow, which showroom did u test drive ? the route that was directed by the SA @ Glenmarie can't even lap above 80km/h due to the turnings and road curves.

I have not driven it yet but I agree that the cabin quality is really impressive. Photos doesn't it do justice. Some plastics although hard, feels solid but those panels on the doors, dash, gear shift, handbrake, knee pads, steering are real leather!

Thanks for the comparison with crz. Was eyeing the crz, it's even smaller, looks like great fun to drive with 6 spd manual but the servicing costs published by Honda then was very high! Hated Honda after one of their 3S center gave me warranty problems for not sending my car in every six months irrespective of mileage.

Was told there will be only one batch of delivery for sedan before April, it should be available late Feb or early March.

Went to showroom yesterday. Built quality is very good. The gadgets are top notch. Like the interior design and exterior too.

Down sides:
-no 6 airbags
-hideous reflector headlamps with cheapo DRL
-cramp back seat

just realized that the tyre size for the Mazda 2 is 185/60/R16 and not 185/55/R16
That is a rather odd size, at least for now

And currently there's no such tire in Malaysia.

Next size up is 205/55, might scrape the fenders sad.gif
