Haizz, I'm still waiting for ASW2020, last time when the ASN(April 2008) released but I couldn't manage my time to go to buy that funds as I'm having final exam. But now I'm having a long holiday from September to October, but seems like they haven't release the ASW 2020 to public yet.

PS: When I'm free they don't want to release, when I'm busy they only release, erkk.

YOu know anyone working at post office? Maybank? RHB? CIMB?
They can help you to put in  no need to wait for the release

I know some, but not so close, I think they won't help me...

I was lucky that I was the third one in the queue. But later, the queue became longer. It took a while before they are able to process the deposit.
Worth a try if you are free. Since the max is only RM10k, there are a lot of people who can buy it. Furthermore, not everyone can afford to deposit the max of RM10k.

Nott exactly I'm free on monday, but if it's really available then of course ill take my time to go bank and make an investment, can we check the availability amount through phone or any website?

yeah, you may withdraw your money at anytime as long your account has balance, and the interest will issue based on your account balance.

I'm also going to try on tomorrow, but i think this time should be no problem since the asw 2020 just end on last week, so alot of people bought already, some more ASM is no limit quota for bumiputra/non-bumiputra, so the changes would be higher.

just called maybank, they said ASM still available right now, so who want to purchase then can go on tomorrow morning to have a try, unluckily i couldn't buy any single cent for ASM, here my story, today i went to my area's maybank at 920am, get shock saw a bunch of peoples waiting out there (around 30~40), b4 buying the ASM i need to cancel my FD and take out the money then only i can buy ASM because my saving account got no money inside, when i want to cancel my FD while im waiting for buying the ASM, the maybank staff told me their system will be going down after couple of minutes and they dont know when it will activate back, plus my number was 20 something, so finally i decided to go back and try next time lol. next time lol. cry.gif

plan to buy ASM on tomorrow, but don't know get manage to purchase or not, because this time limit has improved to RM20k and only 2.22 billions for new fund, plus i not yet open ASM account, so you guy think i can manage to buy or not? Here's the routine, tomorrow morning go POS Office open ASM account (my nearest Maybank doesn't provide opening account for ASM), then goto Maybank cancel my Fixed Deposit to get cash and buy 20k ASM.

PS: I think should be alot of people purchase this time since the fixed deposit dividend has deducted, so they will use the money to put ASM instead of FD.

Is this true ? That you can't open a new ASM account at Maybank ? Then i guess you can't open it at CIMB and RHB either ?
*
seriously, but my nearest CIMB and RHB do provide opening account for ASM/ASW2020.

both
If i'm not mistaken, both are open to Malaysian citizen but with ASW2020 there is a special slot for Bumiputra right ?
I was told if you need to open a BUMIPUTRA ASW2020 account, you need to get a confirmation letter from the state department Jabatan Hal Ehwal Negeri ? How about ASM ? I'm a Sabah Bumiputra. Since there is no special slot for Bumi at ASM, i assume i can open it like any other npn-Bumi ?

Oh yeah, one more question. I don't have ASM account yet. So i'm going to open one tomorrow morning at the post office. Can i invest RM6000 first (that's the maximum i can withdraw from my savings account) and then another RM14000 later in the day at RHB Bank ? Thanks in advance.
*
Hmm sorry for late reply, as I was busy today, yeah you may place an amount of RM6000 then another RM14000, as long as you didn't over the limit, same case as mine today, morning went to pos office opened account and placed an amount of RM4000, then proceed to Maybank for another RM16000.

PS: Finally I got myself a ASM account, was unlucky for few times before, due to busy with assignment or exam, going to place another RM20k for ASW2020 on next week. rclxms.gif

Added on April 21, 2009, 7:04 pmHeard about SUKUK also but my neighbor recommend me not to buy this as it's not that safe if compare with ASM/ASW2020, some more need to lockup for 3 years, is that any limit for SUKUK? Or just place whatever amount you want?

haizzz, quite dissapointed as i dont managed to open an asw2020 account, but luckily didnt spend any time to queue and wait, just now after class at around 1145am, and straight away went to the maybank that just beside my college, took number and the maybank staff came out told us that already sold out, just waited for 5 minutes, luckily didnt skip class and queue at maybank at 7am.

yes they will, actually there is a due date for every fund, ASW2020 should be around May 4th Monday as written in the newspaper before.
