luckily got pos office, maybank, rhb, cimb near my office. anyway, manage to buy just now. have to agree that as long as FD rate is lower than ASM/ASW, it is a very attractive option.

QUOTE(boxsternow @ Dec 4 2008, 06:01 PM) I went to RHB Taman Megah today at 1:30pm. She told me that each branch of each bank has a certain quota to fill for ASM & ASW2020 (dunno about others). At that point in time, RHB Tmn Megah has sold out ASM and ASW2020. But if you were to ask any other RHB Branch, they may have some. i wanted to top up yesterday at CIMB, but some guy there say cannot, then i went to the pos office and manage to top up without hassle. illogical??This sounds very illogical, and I don't know whether to believe her or not. What happens with Pos Malaysia then? Do they have a nationwide quota, or per post office? |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jul 23 2009, 11:51 AM) There is no investment/saving that could be 100% safe, even if u put FD in any commercial bank it will be subject to the bank will not goes bankrupt like many cases in USA/UK. For Malaysia, due to bank negara tight control for all commercial banks including PNB, these institution are still in the healthy path, so depositors do not need to worry about something that unlikely to happened. Otherwise u better dont make any deposits in any banks/ or do any investments. our deposits in bank is protected by PIDM up to RM60k. |

QUOTE(lowyatben @ Jul 23 2009, 03:14 PM) Per bank? Or total? read more here http://www.pidm.gov.my/About-Deposit-Insur...%28FAQs%29.aspxAnyway, I thought all of deposits in banks are guaranteed till end 2010? IIRC, there've been ads in the papers highlighting this in recent days. |
