QUOTE(myvi5949 @ Jun 10 2008, 12:54 PM) Hi all..sorry noob question. PNB is wholly-owned by Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputera (YPB). The board members of YPB include the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, and some others. Will ASB/ASW be effected if there is turmoil/change in goverment? What will happen if there is a change in goverment? What happen to PNB? If there is a change in government, YPB board members will change. PNB get new owner (technically not new owner, but new board members of the owner), and what happens to PNB afterwards is fully up to the new YPB board members. That is what I understand. I believed the RM 1 Fixed Price is in the original prospectus, therefore, I wouldn't think any party will have a right to change this, unless, of course they close off this fund altogether and return the money to the unit-holders.
As for the dividend rate, then yes - this can be affected by the new government. Looks like this is the dangerous part. Better stop queueing anymore to buy new units for the non-Bumis. Don't know the future risk,.......... |

Suddenly ASB may not be as stable as we thought it would be...
PNB is directly linked to Gov. Will there be a problem if there is a change in Gov? |

YES, certainly there will be this possibility, and yes, this is certainly quite a big risk. The new Government will want their funds to be in place instead of the former government's funds.

QUOTE(cloudstrife07 @ Jun 16 2008, 02:29 AM) hi guys, im still new to this investment world.still learning about investment bit by bit. I believe the bumiputera portion is still available, so if you are bumiputera, you can deposit straight.i would like to ask, can i still go register for any of these amanah saham?since i heard the units were sold off quite fast when they issue it. If the units are sold off, you can put yourself in the waiting list, so when someone sells, you would be contacted. Normally, it takes awhile until you can buy any units. So, it is wasting time in my opinion. Please correct me if I am wrong |
